I'm just an end user too :-). Just keep checking that xda thread. Looks like Froyo will be upon us very soon. For people who have never flashed a rom or kernel, check out the restore thread. Installing it will likely be simillar to doing a restore in bootloader mode. On my g1 we did it through the "flash update.zip" recovery option. So, it could possibly be done that way. We just have to wait and see. Remember to always do a nandroid backup before flashing anything. That way you can always get back to what you had if something gets messed up. Beer thirty. Hope there is some good news when I recover tomorrow.

Good advice, Foltz!!!!

Have fun tonight! *hic* :D

so does this mean that Ascend users will be getting stock roms that are made for pure performance and battery savings in mind? Oddly enough though, I've noticed that there aren't any developers in our forum section. Are they all over at XDA?

Basically, What this means is that, with the source code, almost anything is possible!

We have a lot of developers here in the Android Forum. And some that post from time to time in the Huawei Ascend forum as well.

We're a small forum...but friendly and active. :)
