The N4 has nipples now. Kinda.

Looks like LG and Google made a slight change to the back of the N4.

Got mine around the 15th ish of March and mine didn't include nipples although some say theirs did that shipped around the same time.


Did Google And LG Silently (And Subtly) Update The Nexus 4's Design?

I would agree with both, without them it is both slippery and muted on a smooth surface. Being that the phone is very loud, I kinda like the "mute feature" . The slipperiness is another matter.

Nope. They are miniscule tbh, I don't really see how they'd actually be much use at all.

If you look closely at the picture in the OP, it appears the nipples are on the edge of the outer band and not on the back itself.

Yeah, but I'm not sure how much they replace when you have a shattered back? I bet they don't pick the glass out and replace just that?

Just received a new Nexus that I ordered back on March 29th. No little nipples here.

Maybe they should've just put the speaker at the bottom so that the speakerphone doesn't become 50% volume when I put it on a table.... which is kind of the point of using speakerphone so I don't have to hold the phone in my hand.

But given its quirks I still love my N4.
