Root The New Stock++ 2.3.6 (ROM) Updated links 4/27/13

I can't get this to download. Keeps saying error in file. So, I tried the B1 file opener, I can't download that either! :( I enjoyed Stock++ for 2.3.4, would like it again for 2.3.6 :)

Or I could just try another rom altogether...lol...I never really got into the ROM's, just wanted away to use the internet :)

Do you mean you cant download it to your computer or you cant flash the rom?
 
Try on wifi but make sure you have at least 2bars or u kan go on Da playstore n try n app like download blazer I think its paid but its so worth it for big downloads wen u have a good connection (wifi)dats if u downloading from your phone...:rolleyes:
 
The think thats missing is the web browser. Like why take the browser out. I loved the metro web app. I also need it because other web browsers are as much supported. besides Opera Mini. But it's not the same. Please have one with a browser.

Because the stock browser doesn't have as many features as other browsers that you could get from the play store. You could get the apk though from another rom.

I have it here just install via root explore...

An interesting response... But instead of taking it why not leave it? As those other browsers will still be there waiting to be downloaded if needed or wanted. So Kage how do I extract the apk's and get them working on my phone? Root explorer maybe? Odin? Any help is appreciated.

UPDATE - I tried using root explorer. Found the browser.apk and clicked it. It says this is a package installer blah blah so I clicked to install it. It shows permisions of the app and install button. But I tried like five times and it always ends with Application not installed. What am I doing wrong? I apologize if there is another thread for this...

The apks from the rom? When you download the zip just use something like winrar to take out the apks.

You will first need the apk (I have it ready here.) Just copy it via root explore or with any other root capeable file manager into /system/app. Profit!

...But why would you need the apk if you already have it? :confused: I think I have given you a good enough walkthrough of the prosess. If its not good enough tell me and ill revise it.

So to be clear, I copy and paste from where it is to system/app. Then what? I click to intstall? Also does it matter if I'm in r/o or r/w mode? (using root ex)

The reason I am asking is I have tried copying it to that folder. It went in the folder. Great. It still was not available to use. So what did I not do?

NM I found it elsewhere.
Posting a half a**ed one liner about how to do something IS NOT a walkthrough.

Trial and error with root explorer is how I found out how to use it. Once you figure out what everything is and what everything does it's not that hard.
