Help the process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly

I keep getting the error "android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly" on my Optimus M everytime I try to install something from the market. It gets to 100% then the error message and a force close option. I have formated the SD card, because I have read it was a problem with the SD card. Tried another SD card. Did a factory reset but still get the same issue. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Update - Flashed the phone with the LG Update Tool to software version 2.2.1 and that corrected the issue, although I no longer have root and the phone is loaded again with the carrier's bloatware. No more stopped process issues though.

Another user has reported that this update will make your phone unrootable. I'd hold off on any updates until a work around is found.

You are doing good, I made the mistake of downloading th new 2.2.1 update, now my Optimus is not rootable (for the moment) and full of Metro bloatware :(

Can you think of anything that was installed/uninstalled before this started happening?

@thunderkiss65: You do realize you answered a post from December, right? :P

I uninstalled the bloatware, but apparently I went a little uninstall happy as I removed the metropcs email and internet browser. That's when I started receiving this error msg. I unrooted the phone, returned the phone to factory settings and then tried reformatting the sd card. None of these suggestions worked. I also tried the updating the software bit, but alas, I was already running 2.2.1. So it will not give me the option to *update*. I'm supremely unhappy with myself. Bah!

Once you delete/uninstall a system app, it's gone. Factory reset will not restore it to the phone, it only wipes user data and downloads. Follow the directions here: http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-all-things-root/342765-how-do-i-un-root.html#post2738263
