A married couple were devastated that their newborn son was born with only a head. No body, no limbs. They loved him, however, and raised him with care and compassion.
When the son turned 21, Dad decided to treat the young man to his first adult beverage. They went to a nearby bar: Dad set his son on the bar and ordered two shots of whiskey. He tapped the glasses together in a toast, drank his down and then poured a shot into his son's mouth.
Suddenly, the son's head began shaking violently and, to everyone's amazement, a torso grew out of the head before their eyes.
The father was overwhelmed with excitement. "Bartender - bring me two more shots of that whiskey!" The drinks arrived and Dad poured the second glass into his son's mouth. The son began convulsing... and from the torso, two arms immediately grew out.
Everyone was astonished. "Quick!" the Dad told the bartender, "bring another round!" This time, father and son were both able to lift their glasses in a toast, and they drank their whiskeys at the same time. The son began shaking uncontrollably - and from his torso, two legs grew out!
Everyone in the bar was speechless for a moment and watched in astonishment as the son stood for the first time. A little wobbly at first, he took his first steps and, leaping for joy, ran a lap around the bar and raced out the door. Realizing too late that he didn't know how to stop, he ran into the street... and was struck and killed by a passing bus.
No one knew what to say. Finally, the bartender leaned over to the father and whispered, "maybe you should have quit while he was a head."
