Help The RAM

Gearu

Android Expert
So, the actual total ram is 833MB (not 1GB) which is understandable since that's how things go with technology, but what is the lowest I current usage I can get it down to, since it's usually around 300MB used?
I managed to get it down to 206MB by killing background apps, I just don't like wasting anything.

Hopefully I can get an app/hack the root so as to permanently keep these background services under the floorboards, instead of having to kill them every time I turn the phone on.

This is a linux system - free RAM is wasted RAM!

Seriously though, there is no need to clear/kill running processes at all unless a process has gone crazy and is blasting the CPU.

so 1Gb minus 833 mb = approx 177mb

just imagining on the Sensation + a much more heavy Sense UI. Gotta take 768mb down to about 568mb, maybe less?? :p

the 177mb isnt being used by touchwiz, its assigned to the gfx processor. the 200mb that you cant kill is being used by touchwiz (i've never seen mine go under 300mb)

It is, 833 available to the os, 177 for the gfx, the out of the 833 comes touchwiz etc.
Mine usually sits between 300-400 in use out of 833

My bad, I just assumed that that's what took it up. So what would the htc sensation have?? In terms of usable MB forj apps?? Just wondering.
