Root The road to Android ICS 4.0 on the Triumph

I am really, really confused. I thought Isaac had ICS running several weeks ago on the triumph with working touchscreen drivers. Why is everyone else unable to use github to build a rom from the tree Isaac upkept?

Currently, we have a issue with the kernel, and it happened right after Issac went MIA. Now we have a build (for the Ideos X6) that works, with exception of the touchscreen.

You can build from Isaac's repo - change github xml/config from git:// to https://

Had to remove references to long back keypress app kill to get a complete build. Wouldn't boot or give any logcat info.

It's ok, it's just a lot of people is asking for him back, but they don't understand he's in collage and is very busy with tests, his GF, and his social life in general. Barely any girl want a man who's always on his computer, not to say he's making big money with whatever he's doing on the computer, as a excuse. He did say he was scaling back on developing.

Well, he had phone hardware issues (the usb port) and school stuff. He will get back when he can, or he may not. There isn't anything we can really do as the guy can make those decisions for himself. All we can do is wait patiently, or try to work on things ourselves (as many members are doing :)).

Aside from that, there is no need for any member here to snap at any other (I am not directing this at anyone, just try to be nice to each other ;)). :D

He did say he had USB port hardware issues, but look how long it is taking him to call(or get) for a replacement, or even post on the forum. He said he was busy, and he is trying to scale back development. That's all I was trying to say...

College...gf...social life?? Pfff...lame...:-D

Well the only part I dissagree about is the gf part... they are always good :D

I have to take time off of messing with stuff too, to spend time with family and such. As much as I'd rather stay on the computer all day, its nessesary

Yeah my lil sis is cramming all her studies and I can't even get any replies from her. I guess every college is getting crazy. Plus when your in college you have to study advanced classes. Including a foreign language. My sis is studying either Spanish or French I'm not sure but give Issac n all the other college students a break. Patience is a virtue. He will when he is ready. You never know he might learn something that can help us with our phones. ;-)

So I'm following this and it's hard to figure out exactly where we are on this port can someone do a detailed list of everything that works what's broken major bugs things like that it would be really healpful.

I think there is alot that needs fixing. I know only a few have been able to get a build to work. A semi-detailed picklist would be helpful for those of us that are trying to help.

The State of ICS on the Triumph:

I think this is fitting, so that everyone here doesn't have to go through the entire thread to see where we are at.

As of 1/9/2012; we do not have a working build.

Right now, we have a build that boots (edowar over at XDA has come up with a build that will boot on our phone, but the touchscreen doesn't work. This is a kernel issue that we are hoping will get sorted out in the meantime by some of our guys here.) Our builds (from Issac's source) do not boot (again, due to a kernel issue. This one is a little more serious. Thus, we are working with the ROM from edowar. However, I suspect that once a kernel comes out, our builds will work as well.

A note regarding Issac:
As of late, Issac has left us, however, he left us with enough to work with. Issac, on behalf of all of us, thank you for what you have done for the Triumph Community.

This is the second post (from myself) on the Dev thread on building ICS from Isaac's source.

I think I heard about that. Im not sure it will work for the triumph. I can't remember which forum it was on either isnows HDMI or tickerguys forum.

A few reports show that CM9 has been compiled using his setup. It just takes alot of garbage typing out of the equation.

I honestly have no idea if this will help anybody, but I stumbled across this on XDA and have used it to compile CM7 from Issac's git. If you'd like to try it out, I highly recommend it. The dev has been really helpful too. [CMC] Cyanogenmod Compiler [Alpha] [Dec 29 2011] - xda-developers

Interesting, it may need manual tweaking for our proprietary blobs. Also I assume it won't pick up isaac's repo that has tickerguy's changes, it would go straight to CM's repo for anything other than device.

Also while a tool like this is helpful for a beginner to setup. The manual typing is still needed if that dev is to make any contributions in the future. Otherwise they're just building a working source, and everything has to be perfectly setup for them.

Yeah that's what it said but we still have manually configure some of the code or the phone will blow up on us when when we install it. This phone isn't on cyanogenmod or rom manager yet. This was made from scratch.
