Root The Strangest Thing?

I was laying in my bed looking for a new game to enjoy on my ally when the phone crashed. No big deal. However, it started up in a boot loop. Now here starts the problem. I neither have the rom nor a nandroid since I recently switched from the Droid 1.

After many failed attempts, I downloaded Velocity 1.1 and placed it on my sd card. No big deal.

After turning on my phone, I forget to hold the buttons to boot into recovery and I am greeted by a pretty awesome boot animation I've never seen in my life. It was an outline of the Android logo overlaying what appeared to be clouds.

Can anyone explain what happened? And if they know of that animation, please tell me how I can get it. It was pretty awesome

Idk, but now my phone is better than before. I've been putting off restoring it. I really want that boot animation though :/

check /data/local see if theres a boot animation there.

Might be in /system/media although i dont well.
