Long and sad story short, I never wanted to move up here. I was perfectly happy in south jersey where there is little snow and 4 actual seasons, with summer lasting a full 3 months. :-D

Can't move? Personally, If I were going to the coast, I'd probably look at North Carolina before South Jersey.
 
Nope. Court's involved. I can go east 50 miles or south 50 miles and that's it. He can go north or west (he moved back to jersey). Other than that, I have to get his witnessed, notarized written permission.
 
I gotta tell you that it rings the sympathy bell with me. My brothers and I were the kids in the middle of a deal like that and it's no fun for anyone. Personally I would have preferred my dad moved far far away, but that's another therapy session.
 
Luna, I so totally get you. I am trying my very best to make the best of it for my kids. I made a poor decision 10 years ago (to get married to this guy) and now they have to pay for it. :( Whadda ya gonna do but make the most for it. My kids thankfully LOVE the snow. :)
 
Dont mean to be a thread killer. so on a lighter note... we decided to go snow tubing. not a fan of the snow, but he says it's fun, it's half price right now, and they have a cafe to eat at afterwards. so we're doing that tonight at 6p. so now I gotta finish work so I can go and not worry about it :)
 
Just got back from an apartment warming for my son and his girlfriend. Tough being the oldest in the room (like here :p ).
 
Yup, considering that he was surrounded by his gf's sorority sisters and they were clucking like a flock of game hens. ;)

(that wasn't too misogynistic, was it?) ;)
