The Tablet Tavern

Yep, I've used both the regular version and the HD one which is tablet optimized. Honestly, on my Nexus 7, I prefer the regular one which is just blown up. When I have my Transformer, I'd use the HD version (though usually just the browser).

I may get it. I only would use Android Forums with it. Theres already a free app abd It does everything I need it to, maybe a little less. Just kinda bored of this design. Its kinda stale but I font know what could make it better. More color, less text.

Hey, some of the best stuff I've made, was me looking at wht I had in the kitchen and thinking, "what can I make with this?"

Trust me, I've had plenty of those nights. Leftovers and what's on hand.... what can I make with this? Deplete the stock on hand, make good food, save money... It's a win-win! :)

I use both of them too, trying to use groove IP for texting too but its not working so well.

I never setup Groove IP for texting, and only launch it when I want to make a call on my Google number. I found it annoying that Google's pwn app wanted you to use your cellular to make calls on your Google number, when the reason i wanted to use it was due to being on WiFi.

There's many apps that Google doesn't do a good job on, Google voice for android is one of them. In fact, Google does a better job developing apps for iOS than android. Take a quick look a Hangouts for iOS vs hangouts for android. Its night and day between the two. You can SMS text, MMS text, make phone calls, receive phone calls, and IM people on the iOS hangouts. For android, well..... You can IM.

I have kept all the Google apps I have from updating. All the newer versions of Google's apps depend on the Google play services, and will bitch if it is not there. I do not like the privileges Google play services has and it being on the device administrators list, and so I removed it.

Your saying the updates made the apps worse?

Some updates are good, others aren't. I don't let any app auto update, and prefer to manually do it after I see how the update is in reviews. I just really didn't care for how Google made their apps want that Google play services, and so I kept the apps from updating to versions that require it.

I have actually had to block the Play-store on my tablet for some reason because it tries to auto update apps even with auto update off. This really annoyed me as I have to go to the my apps list in the play store and turn off the auto update for each app since the global one don't work. Some apps didn't appear in that list until updated arrived and those I have to remove the update then block it.

Unless I have a problem with an app, I tend not to want to update it. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
