Target is right down the street from me. Easy to hop in on the way home off the bus. A bit bummed about this, but isn't enough a reason to stop shopping there.

I don't shop there luckily (clear across town from me). I would use cash there if I did, after seeing how weak their network security was at the local store. Their wireless was only WEP encrypted. Hopefully that was upgraded from when I noticed it.

I don't like to use public wifi because of that. I would rather use 3G. Is that safer?

Well this wasn't public WiFi. This was the wireless network their registers used.

I wouldn't do anything serious on public WiFi, though looking up a place to eat on Google or something is okay to do.

Anything with google is serious to me. I don't know what I'd do without my google account, it's scary.

Most likely it's because of their mobile scanners. If they are using older motorola MC scanners, they only support WEP encryption so instead of replacing them with newer equipment, they keep the networks insecure. I doubt the store managers really understand anyway.

Some of the registers were wireless too. I was doing a service call when i first noticed it, while using my laptop to program and test some equipment. This was a good while ago, hopefully that has changed.

Usually IT upgrades to equipment are decided by the home office, and the store managers have nothing to do with it. The local managers wouldn't request it because it would count against their operating budget.

More details, girl, details :p:rolleyes:

We went to kyoto, tokyo and osaka. I learned some things about my friend that I could live without, but it's okay lol. The thing I love most about japan is their bathrooms. Even the public ones are outstanding.

They do make some technologically advanced toilets there..
