Ok, I tried installing both of these zips and got 'update aborted' 3 separate times. I definitely mounted the system before installing. So I'm wondering if it can't be installed over 'Watermark'?

Tomorrow I might flash back to Gummy pre-watermark and then lay it on top if that. Has anyone else installed it over watermark?

I don't think I've installed it directly over Watermark but you should be able to no problem it seems. Try downloading the zip again, maybe the file was corrupted? That's happened to me a few times. If that doesn't work, then just flash back to straight Gummy 2.5 and then install Black AOSP.
And just to make sure, you are definitely on GJ 2.5 right?

I am on 2.5 (or Watermark wouldn't have worked either, would it?), and I downloaded the zip with the percentages twice and the regular zip once and all 3 times I got 'install aborted, file (bad)'.

One thing to note, once I got to the megaupload site it said the zip was 8.(something) mb's, but after I downloaded it, it only showed the file being 10.(something) kb's... did it not download correctly? I could see it not downloading correctly once, but three times in a row? I figured that was all the bigger it was after that.

It definitely didn't download right then. It should be exactly the same size that it says on the site. Wonder if it could be the browser you're using...I know at work I have trouble downloading from certain sites. I've had "file bad" messages when trying to install certain zips too. I'll try to upload it for you on a different site.
And there is a watermark theme for 2.1 also, that's why I asked :D

Ok, well then I'd say it's the file, I'm using Dolphin, should I try it on Skyfire instead? I'm about 99.99% positive I'm on 2.5 (I remember downloading that zip, and erasing it off of my SD card later... if I failed to install it between those two events then I'd say I have bigger problems than a bad theme zip! lmao), when looking in 'About Phone' in settings I can't seem to find anything that denotes that however.

Anyhow, I'm now convinced it's the browser I downloaded it with. I'll try Skyfire next. It's kinda strange though, I've had no problems downloading on Dolphin in the past. I've downloaded all my ROMs and themes with it. The only difference is I don't think I've downloaded off of Megaupload before. Are there any mirrors?

Don't know of any mirrors. I will get it up but it will be this afternoon, I'm at work now. So you are downloading it from your phone? Can you get to a computer to dl it? Otherwise I'll have it up for you later.

I've done everything straight from my phone up to this point. When I very first rooted my phone way back in... what September? That was the only time I've ever used the computer to do anything with this device. Everything else I've done with it I've done directly through the phone itself. That's one of the qualities I love most about this thing, the fact that it is self sufficient! Maybe my connection just wasn't the greatest last night, I'll give it another shot now and see if I get any different reaction.

Thanks for all your help bruh!

Aaahhhh... it's all good in the hood now my man. Redownloaded it just a few minutes ago and it showed up as the correct 8.(something) mb's instead of just a few kb's. Went into bootloader, installed it, and now I'm on blackglass. Don't get me wrong, the Watermark theme was totally kick-ass. It was just a bit busy for my tastes.

Now then, it seems I just barely escaped a major catastrophe while updating my theme. I was so excited that the download went smoothly this time, that I rushed into recovery, cleared the cache, and went to 'install from SD card'. I picked the zip and clicked on it. Then the screen came up with all the "no's" and you have to scroll down to the one "yes". I scrolled all the way down to the yes and had pushed the camera button in about half way before I remembered that I hadn't mounted the system yet... OMG!!!!

So I backed up, mounted the system, then came back and installed the update zip from SD card. Everything went as smooth as silk after that. So my question is, what would have happened if I'd fully depressed that camera button without having the system mounted?

Scarry stuff forsure, now I see how easily people can miss a step and wind up ****ed! Thank God for that extra screen, had it not been for that it would have been too late by time I remembered I hadn't mounted the system.
