Root [Theme] Black, White, and Chrome for ApeX 1.4.0

Gave it a shot, installed fine, but looks completely stock to me.

I just went back to stock market, downloaded the file I linked **********and it worked out ok.

Went from this:

What I did was use root explorer to remove Vending.apk from /system/app, and then installed the stock apex market I linked a few posts up through bootstrap. After installing the stock market, I went ahead and installed this new black market zip through bootstrap (make sure to mount system before applying) and it's working good so far.

If it works out for you let me know so I can add it to the first post and instruct people to use this market instead of the one in the "Addon" folder; the one in the "Addon" folder doesn't seem to work for everyone (this one looks like it solved the issues).

I did just as you did in this post.

***************

I did just as you did in this post.

I don't know if it will make a difference, but after removing Vending.apk from /system/app I rebooted my phone and let it boot up, after it booted up completely, I bootstrapped and installed the stock market (mounting system first of course).

After booting up again with the stock market, I then bootstrapped (mounting system once again) and installed the Black Market.

Now every time I go back to stock market and then to Black Market it works out just fine every single time.

It's the same market I have been using on Fission and Liberty for the past couple of weeks with no issues. Actually no one had reported any issues with it until now (other than me uploading the wrong version one time :p, but not this time).

I had the market issue too (when using the .zip located in the AddOn folder of the BWC directory). I had to restore back to pre-BWC (my fault cause I didn't backup between installing the theme and installing the Black Market). Once I did that, and had the original market installed and working. Then using the latest .zip file you posted, it installed and is working fine! Thanks for your help! Great theme!

The previous file (the on in the "Addon") folder I believe was not signed correctly, the latest one I posted is signed correctly.

I think next time I am just going to make the black market part of the theme and not make it an installable zip file.

EDIT:
You should always make a backup of your phone before you make major changes to it.....trust me, I learned that the hard way too :D

So I just reinstalled the stock market posted here, rebooted it.....then tried black market again and still the same.
Its not the big a deal, was just hoping to get it completed.

I sent Fabolous a message earlier, maybe he can provide some insight as to why it's not working for you.

I wish I had your phone in front of me so I could see exactly what is going on.....I think it's driving me more nuts than it is you :p ;)

Sorry you aren't able to get the black market going.

Thank you, I really appreciate that.....its certainly not a deal breaker for me, and again thank you for your work on the theme. I added adwtheme colorless, and wave live wallpaper....everything is black and white now...and looks sick!

Looks great but I have to nitpick lol. The apex bwc on the lock screen is not centered :(. Is there an easy way I can fix our remove that all together? Noob here.

The only thing I can suggest to you right now is to do what routzong did to see if you can get the market to work.....post #32.

Oh, thanks for reminding me about that; I noticed it yesterday too, when I looked closely at it. I was going to fix it (well, at least try to fix it, we'll see), but I lost track of it with the black market issues :D

I went in settings/applications/manage app/market and uninstall updates (maybe that wasn`t a good thing) and the black market open up and forces close went and did this again (What I did was use root explorer to remove Vending.apk from /system/app, and then installed the stock apex market I linked a few posts up through bootstrap. After installing the stock market, I went ahead and installed this new black market zip through bootstrap (make sure to mount system before applying) and its working good so far.) The stock market forces close also, so I remove black market and went to root explorer to remove Vending.apk and then installed the stock market works now. The black market will not load get the same as before.

The error was for Vending.apk

I figured this was going to happen (see screenshots). I believe there is a way to fix it so both "ApeX BWC would be lined up properly, and I think kejar mentioned it, but I don't know what xml to edit to have that happen.

But, this is off now (not left justified anymore):

Mine shows up as "Black Market" not "Market" under Applications, and I don't get the "uninstall updates" option.

I have never been one for themes but this time I couldn't resist. Installed without hitch and Black Market is awesome :D Great work!!!

Just curious though I would love to know how you guys are able to change the icons in the setting menu without having to install a theme?

Hey, I went to Applications in settings, and uninstalled Market,...and there was Black market in its place after I did it!

Is Black Market now working for you?

It seems like the Black Market wasn't overwriting your current market for some reason.

It's in Settings.apk found is /system/app you can copy it from your phone using root explorer, or just extract it from the ApeX ROM and modify it that way. It's just a matter of copying the pngs you want into the drawable-hdpi folder located in the res directory inside Settings.apk.

Can I modify all that via my laptop? And if I can do I need to adb push/pull?

Well,...it was there. And then I started getting all kinds og F/Cs so I was able to load up the original market ok. So,...it's not to be for now....
