Root [Theme] Dark Sense for Galaxo 1.6.3.x

Another thing of the beta that inFECT is working on is the notifications text color. Right now you can see the clock in white, but the notifications text is black (like when you connect the usb cable, mount/unmount sdcards, etc.)

I'm itching for the final release of inFECT's Dark Sense!
 
Installed some AWD themes from the market
2-3 of them worked.
On installing one of them the phone restarted and then got fixed at the boot screen.
Got back to my earlier nandroid backup.
So would stick to 0.8.2 Dark Sense Donut for the now and wait for the Stable release.
I hope inFECT would take these things into consideration.

Also on connecting the charger the Charging icon the home screen ( when screen is locked) is the one from the old theme. The super circle charging icon is missing there.

Next update will be still without JIT. First, because iam not a fan of JIT and dont use it, second i dont have the time and motivation to make it JIT compatible. But this does not mean, that i wont do it someday ;-)

Also when the phone is put to charge only the 1st quarter on the left part of the charging circle changes colour to orange without blinking. The other 3/4 part is dull gray in colour without any animation. Is this natural for this beta.

Which transparency setting are you searching? Not sure what you mean.
About the charging circle. Thanks for reporting, noticed it myself too now.

You can look at this post.. There are no major design changes.. Just tweaks, more icons in the menues replaced (instead of the standard grey shaded) and a lot of png optimizing.

Well in the Dark Sense 2.0 you could find it here

ADWSettings --> Drawer Settings --> Background Alpha

There seems to be no such settings in the 1.0 Beta Version
That was nice, nice if you can put it back

Just installed the new beta, looks great so far!
I did come across a bug in the new contact list however; for some reason all my contacts from A-N are sorted under "V", M-T under "I" and V under "e". This is also shown when using the slider on the right, where V, I and e is the only letters I can scroll through. Anyone else have this problem?
 
Thanks for those screenshots. From which version of DarkSense can we set the transition speed? I like mine to be slow.

Could not stop myself from trying the Beta 5 version (Inspite of a boot screen fix once)

I have been using it over the past couple of days and I really like it.

The following are my personal opinions only by no means I want/try to undermine the efforts put behind the themes by its creator.

I personally dont like the Battery Icon. Though is 3D but on a 2D background it doesn't gel very well.

I have seen a couple of posts here ; I don't rem'r the names but they had worked on the battery indicators which showed the relative battery life remaining. If this could be merged with the Super Charger icon or even for that matter the original 1.6.3.4 blue charger icon; it could be good I think.

As for the rest of it its seems perfect. Amazing work !!! Kudos !!!

The Wysie Contacts is an amazing bonus. I almost stopped using aTakephone. But unfortunately it has a problem of only showing 3 alphabets while scrolling down the contact list. I put up a concern regarding this on the xda forum thread but it seems that Wysie has stopped updating that particular app. I wish someone from this forum does it for all of us.

Also the ability to add/remove home screens along with an option to define a catalog on the drawer is amazing. It hides the apps one doesn't want to see on the drawers.

I again on a personal level wish many such more innovative features to be implemented on Donut platform as its definitely a trusted and stable platform.

Adding to it : Leukel released a theme of his yesterday, another black theme has been hoisted on the box23.org by infect and we have a white theme by DaSchmarotzer.

Its definitely good for the Galaxo particularly since it will be eventually replaced by the impending GAOSP on Froyo.

I am expecting some more users to give their feedback and help improve the theme even more :D

Strange knowing about the Wysie contacts. Would be wonderful if it can be fixed. Never seen anything better than that.

The Super Circle Battery with % mod by Aglar is amazing[FONT=&quot]. [/FONT]Can't wait to see it integrated.
 
Installed the Dark Sense 2.1 Final version a couple of days ago.
I have been very impressed by the performance.

Just a couple of glitches

1. The font of the numerics on the super charger battery indicator is a bit small. Maybe Im growing old but if it can be increased by a point I guess It can make life easier for a lot of people.

Perhaps I can suggest to reduce the inner radius of the charger so that its overall width can be slightly decreased. Maybe then we can have the font size increased by one unit.

2. The fonts again are not very clear. Maybe if they can be made a bit sharper they would be easy to view.

3 Just a suggestion : In the locked screen when the charger is connected we get a static charging icon. If the icon as it is visible in the top notification bar can be implemented, I guess eye candy would improve.
 
nice work Infect......phone was starting to hang and force close and get all glitchy......did a wipe....re-intalled galaxo.....and then sense 2.1 ............now smooth as silk and it looks good too!...still using 1.6.3.2 and it works fine (just for your info)......is there someway I can send you a beer?............I was ready to chuck this thing at the wall before the re-install and your new theme.

wow. this is good news. didnt expected, that it work on 1.6.3.2 or .3 but i dont understand why you didnt upgrade to 1.6.3.4 since you wiped anyways ;-)

just too lazy....I remember the headache of mounting the adb drivers to get 4.6.3 recovery installed and I wasn't ready to relive that experience...already had 1.6.3.2 on the phone so I just did a re-install.....I think I will wait for gaosp before I change anything like that again.....beers sent....drakaz got some a couple weeks back for the great progress......thanks

really?....sorry for the quick threadjack inFECT....download and stick them on the phone...just like a theme?....how does the phone recognize it...or do I replace the old with the new?
 
If you already have the correct recovery.img (if you haven't flashed a firmware with odin after you used galaxo you should) it uses the RECTOOLS.tar.gz to function. This file just sitts in /sdcard and can therefore be changed to a newer version just using windows explorer while the phone is booted normally. At least this has always worked for me... :eek:
