Root [THEME] DX BlackBarMod 2.2&2.3

This is a Port of the Clean Back Bar by JoelWRX.
it maintains most of the DX stock colors and images except for the notification bar and its icons. there are also a few added images from the splender theme i did on the droid.

This is for 2.2 only

Installation

Requires: Rooted, Deodexed Froyo, Koush's Droid X Bootstrapper

1. Download file and place the .zip file on the root of your sd card
2. Reboot into Clockwork recovery
3. Install .zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard
4. Install DXStockBlackBar


DXStockBlackBar.zip
 
what do you mean by root of your sd card what exact file do i place the zip in? Also do i unzip it first or put it in the file as a .zip?

Root of the SD card means the very first thing you see when you enter your phone's 'hard drive' from your pc.

Leave it as a .zip file, do not unzip it.
 
Great ty for the help im new at this so i try to get as specific as i can lol. Also i would like to be able to change my lock screen so the back ground is different than my phone desktop any links on how to do that?

app called widget locker on the market has that option
 
Widget locker isnt free though right trying to do this on the free side already paying like 160 a month for phone service :D btw ty for the blackbar i have been looking for that for a while and this one is really cool and easy to install. Looks amazing

If you can afford 160 on service you can spring for the 1.99 for an app you tight a$$ :D I joke. But serious its a fine app well worth the few dollars they ask for .

Heck give it a try and if you don't think it's worth it uninstall it within 24 hours and you don 't get charged. One of the best features of your app store is you can try anything and if you don't like it you can get a refund. Try that at Apples store. If you decide you like it I'm sure you can scrap up the 2 bucks...Just make Jr. eat peanut butter and jelly (no beard of course that cost $$) for a week. :D

FYI it does A LOT more than just let you have a different background. Its well worth the $$ and I don't say that about a lot of apps but Widget locker is a good app.

Well the option to install is to "choose zip from Sd card" so he could place it anywhere he likes as long as he can find it again. I really hate putting zip files in my root as it would be very easy to forget they are there and install the wrong thing someday.
 
Yeah I know I was just getting the impression that people thought this was 2.3. Like the title of the thread what does that mean whe he says 2.2&2.3

trying to make it clear for everyone. i see many other theme threads with questions like "Will this work on the new 2.3 build?

oh okay i understand
but also the previous build was 2.3 as well
2.3.9->2.3.13
 
I hate to be that guy asking off-topic questions, but could you provide a link to that bar background you're using at the bottom of the screen? And also the name of that icon pack that uses letters instead of images (I know i've seen it all over the forums/blogs but i cant seem to remember the name).
