I made this especially for the official 2.3.6 update from samsung / metropcs

Please "DO NOT STEAL" - Took me a good month to put this and others together, Major headaches & a bloodshot in the left eye!

Follow My Instructions And Everything Should Go Without Errors!

1. Root with Kidallstar or PG's root method

2. Reboot Into Recovery

3. Format cache (mounts & storage)

4. Wipe Dalvik Cache (advanced)

5. Mount System

6. Install From Zip OriginalUOT-S3.zip - This is just to prep the Framework-res & Systemui, So that when you install the SettingsFixS3 it will install successful.

7. Reboot System (Let the device boot up to the lockscreen)

8. Reboot Into Recovery

9. Mount System

10. Install From Zip SettingsFixS3.zip - Installing this would change & prep the settings.apk, So that when you install the GalaxyS3Based2012-1 the [S3 Settings, DeskClock,Phone,Mms,Camera] should install without errors.

11. Reboot System (Let the device boot up to the lockscreen)

12. Reboot Into Recovery

13. Mount System

14. Install From Zip GalaxyS3Based2012-1.zip - This is the final zip to install, This zip will overwrite and update the following Apk's : Settings.apk to S3 Style Settings.apk, Camera.apk to ICS Style Camera.apk, DeskClock.apk to ICS Style DeskClock.apk, Phone.apk to ICS Style Phone.apk, Mms to S3 Style Mms.apk.

Make sure your on the MetroPCS Official 2.3.6 Update with *Root Access*
If you just installed the fresh batch of 2.3.6 Official Update Or Restored it
from a BackUp... Reboot recovery and let it head to the Homescreen then reboot back into recovery and install the theme (if not your phone will sit at the samsung logo)! What do i mean by this.... if you restored a 2.3.6 back up from recovery, your suppose to let the device boot up fully (meaning to boot all the way to the lockscreen) then from there you can go back into recovery and flash the theme... Please follow instructions given or you will have problems.

I flashed it and after I rebooted it kept vibrating and showing the force close windows for Launcher, Google Play gapps, and other things. What do?

i re-installed this and it works ....i even used the updater tool and went back to stock then installed cwm and rooted it using kidallstar's root method and rebooted back and flashed it and it works
 
OMG! I was about to make me one and share it but you made one and shared it. That's Cool and better than the one I was going to make! You're awesome! :D
 
Lol okay, I'm gonna try and re-do everything but with kidallstars method, I'll tell you if it works
*Edit I rooted with Kidallstars method and I still got force closes so it wasn't the root method that caused it
 
My phone is vibrating outta control like a vibrator...

It's not working for me,
I reflashed OTA 2.3.6. MetroPCS and I did the ODIN Method
I even switched the 2 ClockworkMods
I even deleted stuff out of system
it's still FORCE CLOSING

I even did it one by one, Settings won't show up, Phone won't launch, MMS is hidden, Only DeskClock and Camera shows and working, SystemUi... :/ , and when I added Framework-Res manually it wouldn't boot. I even set the permissions!

Did you root with PlayfulGod's zip or kidallstars?
 
Think i found the problem....
when i first updated to 2.3.6 official using the updater tool... the only root method out was the kidallstar's method... i used his method and the root sticked... and i took the files from system and themed them...

now when i update to 2.3.6 with the updater tool i used PG's root method... it worked .. for like 5mins.... then quick reboot says my device isnt rooted... so i took the framework-res and systemui apk's from the system folder and used uot to just do a regular theme ... (meaning no apk tools or swapping & editing) and i mounted system and flashed it and rebooted... it didnt show the lockscreen it didnt show the status bar .... but showed the homescreen ... and then i started to force close everything....

Also PG's root method worked but lasted for minutes
Kidallstars root method lasted as long as you dont reset everything

This theme works ... but IDK... if its the root method... '
