This is a wip theme that is based off of fantastic "Red Soul Evolution" from plasticdarlow at xda: original thread: [THEME]|Red Soul|Evolution|[12-03-10] - xda-developers

1-10-11 added a flashable service.jar to put the clock back in (by request). this is different than the other restore clock thats out there in that its made for this theme and keeps the red accents in date/ongoing/latest/carrier notifications :)

*Usual Disclaimer* I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. Best practice is to make a nandroid before flashing anything.

The status bar/icons and several other images come directly from Red Soul Evolution, but much of it was put together/made separate of the original theme.

1/7-ok well i decided to update it a little more cuz i was kinda bored :)...added black menus, black browser to match theme, added more red in a bunch of places....changed pulldown menu

12/21 added modded services.jar cwr flash to remove clock froms status bar...courtesy Crushd (xda)

Major Credit to: pasticdarlow at xda for putting together the original theme and doing a fantastic job

adiliyo and ryanbeu as i forked the dialer that was originally made by adiliyo for darkstar and then edited by ryanbeu for defcon1 (i only edited a few images here and there on my own for it)

This theme is for deodexed systems. and has reboot options as well

I'm using and have tested on JT's Super Clean Rom Series for DJ05. If you are not running his rom or one that uses stock lock screen, puzzle unlock may show still show up for you.

looks great, nitsuj! I just may try it. I do have a few questions regarding the process of trying themes.

I'm running jt1134 super clean .7 and superdark v1. So if i load your theme onto my sd care and run it in cwm recovery, does that over write that stuff? Or should I be restoring back to my post-DJ05 root image before applying the theme (or any theme).

I'm also confused as to if themes like superdark are roms, and if installing superclean + superdark was just overwriting the first. gahhh

I understand kernals, I'm just trying to get an idea of what kind of state my phone should be in before applying new themes/roms.

Also, should I keep my phone in debugging mode? lol

you can flash this over superdark in cwr....just i dont know what apps he themed, so this version may not overwrite all of them....but it wont be a problem...just flash the back to stock dj05 theme i put up in fascinate themes/roms first and then flash this
 
alrighty so it wouldnt let me flash the back to stock take 2 from cwm, so i rebooted in recovery 'manual mode'. The problem i'm having is my only options are:
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache patition

I don't see an option to browse for the file I need (I may be doing manual recovery wrong ><)

on a side note, i'm not entirely sure what that update.zip is doing there - would deleting that alleviate this problem, or are these typically the only options in manual recovery mode.

NO DON'T DELETE THAT FILE. When you are in manual mode that is the option that you select. Applying that update.zip allows you to boot in to clockwork.
 
and this is why we make backups of our sd card =P

I think i had deleted it last night while browsing through my sdcard with astro.

All working now - just finished flashing DJ05 back to stock take 2. As long as i learn a few new things everyday, i'll be more and more comfortable with with my first rooted phone =D

Applying the update.zip in stock recovery takes you to clockwork provided you don't touch the actual update.zip file previously and rename or delete it
 
Damn Nit I thought I would never jump off matted blues but this looks pretty sweet I may just have to give it a try. Once again thanks for all you do.

And I thought nothing would move me off purple. However this will tie in nice with my holiday theme on my SF now.

So Im on it, the red. Im trying to be very patient and understanding of the OP when it says more is coming to it. Its a nice start for sure. If this can eventually be as red as purple is purple Im sold 100%.
 
shoot and you just logged out of irc too, so the red keyboard is not cw just install the apk. Will this change my swype red and work with the new swype in jt's clean v.9

its a modded htc keyboard...so it just installs as an additional keyboard....ive never tried to mess with swype...i suppose i could give it a shot and see what happens :)

i was going to try and mod the multi touch keyboard as well...the htc one was the easiest though as there is so much out there for it

A themed DX multi touch keyboard would be sweet for this theme :)

Also Nit, do you have a donate link or anything? I constantly find myself coming back to one of your themes for this phone.

ive been playing around with both swype and the mt keyboard....swype ive gotten everything but the trail line to work and i think i figured out randomly last night what i was doing wrong there...the mt kb i *though* i had working but it was fc-ing...i think i screwed up a .9 image....i will try and revisit that before i head off for vacation for christmas....because my wife wouldnt be too thrilled if i did a lot over our week off.

as for donations:
i really appreciate the support :)...but i dont accept donations. my feeling is that even though i have to in some cases (like this theme) heavily modify the existing files and images that i took from the original...its still not my original work.

my recommendation is that if you like a particular theme ive done or worked on....then support the original creators of each theme. i always link back to them in the start of the threads :cool:

everyone has their own take on donations, but if you want to keep it local...then any of our awesome fascinate devs are great people who put in a lot of time improving our phones :D

i basically port themes that i like or someone requests...and do it because i enjoy it...and its my small contribution to our great community

you can use it universally...its a modified services.jar...so no matter what you flash over that doesnt have a service.jar (and i think only retrokid223's gb does) it ll stick...just flash the remover to ditch it :)
