Root [THEME] Simple Blue 4.2, Simple Green 4.2 (10/26/11)

try this

1) flash simple blue/green 3.1 and let the phone boot up all the way
2) boot into cwm and flash 4.1
3) clear dalvik and wipe cache, DON'T do a factory wipe

you should boot up fine now

edit
lol, guess you got it working =p

yep, so what is the standard waiting time to determine whether or not your stuck in a boot loop vs. just needs an extra load time to load up new theme?

1 min, 2 mins? 3-5??

i get jumpy after watching bootloop for more than 1 min and can hear things force closing (and vibrating) in the background

btw does everyone know a neat trick to get out of a bootloop? hold down power button until it shuts down, (and hold vol up if you want to reboot into recovery)

from everything I've removed/added to the frameworks first boot can take up to 5 mins. if your phone is going to boot up correctly it should only vibrate once during the boot and you will hear a signal sound if your sound is on once its about done

depends on what font your using, the one i use for the theme makes the inbox subject text all look bold. I was going to use a different font for 4.1 but everything i tried looks like shit to me on this resolution

I didn't flash default font though... Hmmm.

Absolutely love this. It is the best yet and my phone is running fast. I have a question though, what is the icon in the notification bar next to the signal meter? I see in the screen shots that it has a W but on my phone, it has a 3.

Scratch that question. I'm such a ****** lol. I just realized it's the data icon

W for wifi, 3 for 3g.

this seems to work good for most
1. Odin to EE14 with CWM and HK 1.2
2. Factory data reset
3. Flash Shabby 0.9
4. Flash Simple Blue 3.1
5. Boot Phone and let it run through the motions.
6. Reboot into CWM and flash 4.0
I'm going to try this Saturday, boy i cant wait
lol.
Thank you for the tip.

I redid all the steps just for kicks and all is working great. Thank you!

the text colors for that are inside dolphins apk

I could change it but it really wouldn't be worth it cause any update for the app would change it back

Gotcha, it doesn't bother me anyways was just pointing it out in case it was fixable. As long as I can see a progress bar, I'm easy.

Looks sweet. I have done alot with my phone except new themes. I definately want to try this, but I noticed there is no microphone in the picks you posted on the 1st page. I use the microphone more then typing (fat fingers), so I really need that baby. Also, I use dt's a2sd (really digging this) and I was curious if anything special needed done to make sure everything works well together? Again, sweet looking theme.

are you talking about the mic button for the keyboard? if so you can turn that on and off with this keyboard, i have it turned off thats why you don't see it.

Okay. Thanks for the reply. Any issues with dt's a2sd? On a side note, I notice people talking about doing factory resets with their phones. I know not to do that with this theme, but when should you do it? I remember doing way back when I first did a shabbymod, but haven't done it since. Would I lose anything if I did it now? What would be the benefits? Just curious. Thanks

factory reset would remove any app's you installed, clear all personal data and reset the settings back to stock

you can do it before installing the theme or if you want to do one after installing the theme it has to be done like this

1) Run the factory reset
2) reflash version 3.1 of the theme. the phone will bootloop so while its doing that hold volume up + power to boot back into CWM
3) reflash version 4.1 of the theme

you should now be able to boot up and your phone will be reset

Simply blue is amazing. Flashed it last night with zero issues. Thanks for all of your hardwork. I have one question. If I wanted to change my boot animation, is it as simple as downloading and renaming to bootanimation.zip, copy to root of sd, open file explorer and deleting the active bootanimation.zip and copy and paste the new one to /system/media/? Thanks again.

you can do it like that or you can push it to /system/media/ with adb

I'm running the honeycomb theme and when i try to flash this it bootloops, even if i do the factory reset and reflash

Either try

flash version 3.1 of the theme. the phone will bootloop so while its doing that hold volume up + power to boot back into CWM
flash version 4.1 of the theme

or

run the factory reset
flash version 3.1 of the theme. the phone will bootloop so while its doing that hold volume up + power to boot back into CWM
flash version 4.1 of the theme

one of those should work

That didn't work, but what did work was flash the honeycomb theme with the CIQ and then flash to your theme

Added a version of each theme for CTMod

You don't have to do any fancy stuff to install it on CTMod, Just copy it to your sdcard and flash it in CWM and your done. You can clear dalvik cache if you want but you don't need to. Factory reset works so you can always do that if you need/want to

The themed Gingerbread keyboard flashes with it so you don't need to manually install it

If GMail doesn't look themed just uninstall the updates for it in settings and it'll be good

The only problem I keep having with CTMod is once it finished booting, there is no navigation icons on the home screen. No Launcher Icons. I've tried it serveral times even with Simple Blue, still no Launcher shown at all??? "Something I am missing" I can flash this in my sleep by now, I might be missing something....
