Download apk-multi-tool. It has everything you'll need to decompile, edit, and recompile APKs

Probably not. You may need baksmali manager though... And you'll need GIMP for sure

Not sure which launchers he posted but launchers like apex and Nova can replace the stock launcher so you can delete it.

The launcher he posted was Smart launcher
