The update is stating MS840ZVA

So has anyone tried this update yet? to see what changes has been done or if it fixes the heat issues?

Edit: So far we can confirm that you can still root this update...

I tried the update. When it completed the bloatware I had removed was back on the phone and it removed "root". However, I was able to "root" again and remove bloatware.

The bug with the weather widget in regards to DST is still there.

Another bug is when I have wifi turned on and it is connected, the 4G icon still displays on the phone. However, the data connection used is the wifi one. i removed MetroPCS Easy Wifi.

I never had an overheat problem with my phone with stock or 3rd party batteries. So, I don't know if the issue is fixed.

However, the update contains an updated baseband dated April 15, 2012. It is labeled as SW_VER 1. The improved baseband should help out the LTE radio consumption of power.

Kernel Version:

How do I update. I googled ms840vza and this page was the only thing that came up.

if you dont have the lg update tool on you rpc do this download anycut from the market open it up and create new shortcut find mobile care and select it and add shortcut , open that and ask it to check for update and it will do it , but they sent it to my phone via ota i froze the mobile care app to stop it from updating by its self

ok i just updated and so first things i can see so far is that this update made a mess with all my app icons.. they disappear from main screen and there many of them in downloaded area where My Apps.
the other thing battery is saying 23

Updated. No changes visually. Homescreen and apps intact. Will edit once I notice anything else.

My YouTube app still flickers when playing but not as often. Used to be a few times a minute now its only once a minute. I'm happy.

What about temps. Mine is on 23~24 C. Doesnt matter if phone feels cold or warm. Always the same temps

Can anyone confirm that the "missing ram" issue is fixed? We should have 1gb ram, but for aome reason alot of connect users experience loss of ram gradualy as if the hardware is failing, so if you guys can do me a favor and look at your system ram, and report the totals?

149 MB used 559 MB free.

ya that would be a pretty important fix on the ram issue, fingers crossed

if i go to running apps it says 480 of ram...
but if i open miniInfo it says 805 of ram.
in my running apps somtimes it goes higher....
maybe 200 of ram is reserved for video??
i dont know about phones but maybe it works like shared memory as pc or laptop does?
