Root TheUltimateDroid 2.1! :D

For anyone who replaced their app drawer with whatever they were taking off:
1. hold the button on your dock where the app drawer used to be.
2. click custom shortcut.
3. press the button that lets you change the shortcut.
4. choose the app drawer.
5. put the app drawer back on your dock.

I posted this because of people over on droid forums having a weird time with this happening to them. Heck it even happened to me. 3 TIMES! But yeah, it's bound to happen to someone over here.
 
Does this new version of UD incorporate the LED functions from CM?

I was using UD, but switched to CM 6.1 because CM actually has customizable LED notifications that work beautifully, built right in to the OS.

I noticed this too, but I would rather just not have it installed by default and install it from the market than have to go through the process of finding and deleting it from /system, rebooting, then installing from market.

I tried to install the modified music app, it said it installed. but the stock music app went away and when i installed the stock one back, it doesn't show up in drawer.
 
I seem to be having some fairly strange issues.

I use Launcher Pro Plus, I like the widgets.

When I go into my app drawer and scroll all the way to the bottom and try to pick an app at the bottom, for example settings, it bounces back up when I tap to pick it and I wind up getting something like Handcent, in the middle.

Secondly, when I go to settings (had to put it on my home screen) anything and everything I try doing in UD Settings gives me a force close.

Yes, I did wipe.

Hey when using TiBu, what options do you guys take?
I'm thinking Restoring all apps with data is not the way to go? just restore missing apps, then just manually restore the options to put back my SMS/MMS
 
I just literally finished setting up CM 6.1 RC4 on my phone (my first CM ROM!) - lol.. now, I've tried UD before, and the results weren't pretty.. but I downloaded this one and will likely give it a shot over the Thanksgiving holiday.. going to see if all the hype about CM is really true before flashing UD 2.1

I assume you are using the 3D app drawer? This is a known issue with the 3D app drawer and you just need to disable it to fix this issue.

You can get to settings my pressing the menu key on any homescreen. There is a settings option in the bottom right corner.

As for the FC issue, try running "Fix Permissions" in ROM Manager.

I typically just let Google restore my apps and then I use TiBU to restore the data only. It take a little more time, but I have run into issues where I end up with double apps because of the app names being changed when modified.

However, since I came from 2.0.0, I didn't wipe and am having no issues at all.

Thanks for the Launcher Pro issue, that fixed that.

I ran Fix Permissions in both ROM Manager and UD Settings (for some reason that one worked). Rebooted after each of them and am still having issues.

If I go to Built in Overclocking, Performance Settings, Application Settings, Sound Settings, Input settings, or User Interface I get force closed out of settings all together still.

Camera, video, and gallery are all fine now for me (they were not before). Running slayhers 800/125 and it is as smooth as any other rom running at 1000 to 1100. Still the smoothest rom I have tried. Going to put it through its paces but as of right not it seems to be spot on.
 
whoa...um what happened to the trashbin? how do i get that back? i cant even figure out how to get to my app drawer...i was tryin to drag stuff to the trashcan and now the middle button goes to my contacts. how do i change this or go back to having the trashcan?
 
Just long press on the screen and add the launcher widget and drag it back down to the bottom to change the widget you have where the launcher was.
 
I thought you did not have an app drawer. My bad, I called it a "launcher widget" but I shold have said app drawer widget. There is a widget for the app drawer if you need that. I am not sure what you mean by "sliding the launcher"
 
put your thumb on the middle icon for where the launcher used to be and move your thumb up....the whole icon thing at the bottom disappears. only way ive found to get it back is to go to the prefereces and then come back out. then its there again. i guess it will just take some getting used to.
