Root Things are not good after un-root!

Ill try and make this short.

I rooted with Unrevoked 3.32 the other day and it worked great, no issues at all. Unfortunately for pease of mind I had to know how to get my phone back to stock before I could enjoy my new rooted phone.

I Un-rooted using the unrevoked-forever-son.zip file and PC36img.zip. It went good and I was back to normal.

Now that I knew how to root and un-root I was ready to start playing around with my phone. I plugged it back in to re-root it and Unrevoked will not register my phone. I have rebooted both the computer and the phone, and even did a factory reset of the phone for good measure. I also tried PDANet which always worked perfectly on my phone. That too fails to connect.

I dont know what I did and how to fix it. I would be happy if it was just back to normal and I could connect to the computer for internet with the PDANet app.

I can get you any info you may need to know if something got messed up in the process. Is there a way to do a total wipe back to stock, or do I just repeat the process for Un-rooting again.

All help is greatly! appreciated.

Thanks

If it helps this is what I have in the boot menu:

Hboot: 2.10.0001
radio: 2.15.00.11.19
software: 3.70.651.1
hardware: ver 0003

Thanks!

Hm, that's the only thing I can think of that might affect both. You're sure you went to menu->settings->applications->development and checked usb debugging?

Yes im sure its activated.

PDANet gives me: Unable to open interface (e00002c5)

Unrevoked just sits saying waiting for device.

Should I go through installing the pc36img file again? Or is there anything else I can look at to try and diagnose this problem.

I have read and read trying to see if anyone has had a similar issue but had no luck.

I am doing this on a Mac. I re-download Unrevoked3 and uninstalled and reinstalled PDANet and no change. It must be something phone related.

FIXED!

I thought I would put the solution to my problem in case anyone else finds them selfs in my situation.

I installed EasyTether a few days ago and had no luck with it so I deleted it off my Mac. It left a kernel extension here:

/System/Library/Extensions/EasyTetherUSBEthernet.kext

That was interfering with PDANet and Unrevoked. Once it was gone everything worked!

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. It's always nice when you can fix your own problems. I knew something had to be interfering like that, but it probably would have taken me a while to guess that. Good job.
