Root Thinking about trying SSX. Help please??

If I understand the directions correctly:
1. I need to be on Froyo but do not need to SBF if i flash the 'Prep' file first then the ' Update ' file after?

2. Should I wipe data and cache before flashing?

3. Do the CM7 themes work with this ROM?

4. How to get back to ApeX when and if I decide to?
I did a Nandroid backup a few days ago but still unclear about how, when and why I would use this backup? As always, I really appreciate any help.

1. you are correct
2. it says it does it for you, but do you want to trust that? wipe data and cache
3. yes
4. sbf back to froyo, install the leaked rooted ota, and flash apex

Im starting to not be such a Dummy about this stuff but have a long way to go. Im not scared to do this anymore just feel I should definitely
ask questions if Im not %100 sure.:D
 
Very nice!!! Speed is awesome , transitions are wicked cool. Went ahead and installed Skulls theme I've had my eyes on for a while. Only thing is I can't get the slide lock loaded. Ill figure it out sooner or later.

Did you try rebooting by any chance?
 
Yes several times. Now it seeme I can't turn off my GPS???
I meant the slide lock for the Skulls theme from CM7

Edit: a reboot fixed GPS issues. Although I never turned it on in the first place it just popped up suddenly and would not turn off...Weird!
 
Just realized my music players (winamp, player pro) are not playing some of my music after installing this ROM.
Message says file type not supported??
Poweramp is the only one working properly. Anyone have a clue how to resolve this. I need at least two players, one for work and one for the car.
