i bought a lg connect 4g (metropcs) phone on letstalk.com. my card was charged and then i received an email saying my order needed to be verified. i called and they asked for my last 4 SSN...gave it...then he asks for my full SSN...i said i didn't know it (I do, though)
question...is it safe to give my full SSn to letstalk.com?
to approve my order, the CS says i will have to give the SSn

Your social security number has nothing to do with buying a phone. Especially a metro phone. There is not a reason in the world I would ever give it to them, they don't need to do s credit check, metro is prepaid. That is the only reason why they could need it at all, if you were starting a contract, or on one, with a carrier other than metro.
It may be miscommunication on their part. Wirefly did the same thing to me, after I talked to a different Rep they apologized. They only needed to confirm who I was, my address and last 4 of the credit card used.
Edit: btw, on the topic of wirefly, they have the connect for 248 right now, no mail in rebate.
