Root Thinking of rooting my Nexus S - question

I am thinking of rooting my Nexus S after all this time, but right now I don't want to install any custom rom's or kernels, just want the access.

The question is this - in light of the current Jelly Bean furore would I still receive OTA updates - or at least the notification - or would I have to download and install manually once available?

Many thanks.

Assuming the rooting method you use doesn't involve installing a script to prevent update polling (most don't), you'll still get the OTA notification when it comes out. Installing it will disable root, though, and in rare cases, being rooted when updating can cause issues.

If you're on the I9020T or I9023, it might be best just to wait for the OTA before rooting, since it should be out any day now.
