Root Third Wave

So I'm guessing I need to remove unwanted apps on my own using the supplied scripts? Just wondering...

Also, can I still use the mms_leak2 message app that was included as an option in second wave?

I didn't update to the new radio, but these latest hydra kernals were pretty unstable with Third Wave. The ROM, however, has been great. I still think that FrankenROM has a better look and feel about it, but this one is no slouch.

AppBrain is a 50/50 shot with these leaked ROMs, which saddens me. I use it for most of my updating and app finding needs. =( Currently, it's not working properly.

Everything else works. I've got WiFi, GPS, 3G, everything sounds, looks and acts normal for the most part. I am the most pleased with this ROM, so far.
 
Now ya tell me about the hydra... just after I got it loaded on my device, in prep of the 3rd wave...

Didja ever think it's all wonky because you didn't upgrade your radio?

So I am looking forward to this one. Though I must say I am starting to get a bit tired of redownloading all of my apps everytime I flash a new ROM. FrankenRom is awesome but I started to get some internet instabilities it would close without forceclosing or anything just shutdown and I am at my homescreen. Odd. Went to CM6 but wanted my internal memory. Went to Skyraider where I have been for the past 20 hours or so. Looking forward to the b4 versions of these both this and Frankenrom. I needed to rebuild I think I had done some stuff that messed it up adding patches all over the place. Just going to add my hydra and download my apps and restore. I should then have restore images of just about everything a few ways and I can just restore to whatever I want to play with.

I am running the 1.15 overvolt on Third wave without any crashes. This includes many calls, also over BT, browsing, and music.

I love all my roms, but Third wave is what I personally use, so it gets the most TLC, due to that.
 
so it seems like almost everything works on this rom, the description says no internal storage though. is that right? is there anything else that doesn't work? thanks
 
Quick question:

On Frankenrom (and evos, obviously) facebook events are automatically added to the calendar. This wasn't an option for the inc before and is the only reason I prefer Frankenrom to 2nd/3rd wave. With this leak is the "Facebook" calendar available?
 
Holey Crud!

I have the newest 2.x radio, just installed hydra undervolt V.05, and the third wave.

This is my radio signal! -54dBm ??? Never have I had a -54... I'm still at work and it's usually -78 dBm... if this is accurate, when I get home , I'll be sitting around -60dBm as my home is usually -84

I think so?

If by Facebook events you mean like Birthdays and such...they have been added to my calendar.
 
I think that was a facebook upgrade not a particular rom feature. I noticed it this morning that someone's birthday was on my calendar that I never knew their birthday.

I'm running with third wave for about 18 hours now. with hydra UV 1.113 without a single problem. 1.15 does not appear to play well with my phone but thats with any rom I've tried ( when I click bookmarks they try to open and just fc) but I am running the most recent radio 2.15.00.07.28.
The rom is stable and fast I feel (MHO) this is the most stable put out to date.
Again keep in mind ALL the froyo leaked roms have network issues. If I get it I just wipe and flash all over. It has been that consistant for me.

Love this rom. Thanks. The only thing I noticed so far it that all my apps didn't show up under downloads, but they now are. I have no clue as to why.
I've tried cm6 and skyraider, this is by far my favorite.

Edit: Sometimes the lock screen goes away and when I go to manage applications and then running, the stocks app is still there.

edit edit: The hulu app is what is keeping my lock screen from showing up. I force stop hulu and it comes back.
 
What happened to wifi tether? I don't feel comfortable doing the Mobile 3G hotspot change so was banking on wifi tether.
 
Quoting myself... This has either GOT TO BE a fluke, or coincidence they might have turned up a new tower in my work area, asas home it was the same ho-hum signal... :(

Also can someone post some quick instructions on how to run these scripts from the phone? I'm not sure how and don't want to mess anything up.
 
well i've been watching all of adrynalynes ROMs over the past few weeks and haven't tried one yet. after being on cm6 rc3 for the past few days i kinda got tired of the bugs and have tried skyraider and so i thought it was time to try one of these. i have the 2.15 radio, s-off, and installed the first ocuv 1.15 kernel. i had one reboot right at first other than that its been pretty smooth, quadrants have been in the 1400s. may have to move to the ov 1.15 if it reboots anymore. i wanted to flash the new frankenROM but somehow this just seemed like less hassle even though it probably isn't. anyways thanks adrynalyne, you may have mentioned this but are you by any chance going to be putting out an AOSP pure vanilla ROM?
 
OK, sorry for all the questions.. major noob with this stuff. Was able to remove the apps that were given in the scripts, but how can I remove the apps that I don't want which aren't shown, such as twitter, flickr, peep, and appsharng to name a few. Are there scripts for those as well, or do I need to do those somewhere else?
 
eh, i was really liking this rom, i had the ocuv 1.15 kernel installed and i rebooted and it went into a boot loop. i then tried all other hydra kernels and the stock uv, boot loop on all of them. i haven't tried the stock kernel yet i just did a nandroid restore to cm6, it booted up fine and that kernel is oc'd to 1.113 so i dunno. i'll mess with it again later but everything up to that point was great.
 
Hey quick question, if were updating from 2nd wave, do we have to wipe data? it seems like right when i get my homescreens the way i like an update comes out lol.. not that im complaining. great work man.

wiping is always a good precaution no matter what...
if you have titanium back up "[desktop]HTC.Sense" it will get you where you left off maybe only have 1 or 2 things to readjust... its in green on titaniums list of system files... I only back up the green system files like contacts/text and scenes... worked like a charm from 2nd to 3rd
 
Not really liking how much of the bloatware is still here. I don't really know how to use the scripts.

I kinda hinted at it in the original post. I did NOT flash the new radio, so I am unsure as to if that played a role. I was using the latest version 1.0, as well. I will get the new radio on and see if that helps. I tried the 1.15 ocuv and the ocuvov, neither wanted to play very well with what I was doing.

Just giving my feedback. I will try again with the 2.15 radio, I am on 2.05 now. Third Wave is pretty slick and I enjoy it very much. Great work.
