That's what the community here is for: Keeping your Android device current. It's one of the benefits from an open system.

I don't even care about the Froyo update anymore for the Ally now that I got the custom ROM loaded on there.

OH YEAH that's right. In addition to the annual upgrade, the NE2 offered like $50 off the new customer price (also, it was 20 months, not 24. Hence my confusion in what the change was).

I'll miss the annual upgrade option, but that $50 or so extra discount was so confusing anyway... i don't really blame them for eliminating that.

But, I agree, the annual option for the "main line" of a plan will be missed.

I spoke to another customer service rep, and was told existing accounts will be 'grandfathered' in. I am elligible for an anual upgrade in october, i can choos to take 1 yr pricing or 2 yr pricing. Any new accounts or additional lines will only have the 2 yr options.

I still find it a bit confusing, but oh well. The one year contract is a bit more per month though, and the one year pricing is a bit higher than 2 yr pricing. Not sure what i want to do yet.

The same holds true for a reason for the new 15 day return period I think, iPhone. Nothing like Apple to drag down a good phone company I guess....:D

Right because Verizon selling an Apple phone means suddenly Apple sets Verizon's policies for them :rolleyes:
