That's why i'm always careful when I bend over, lest something fall out from the front, or "slip" in from the back. (Sorry, couldn't help myself...and NO i've never been to jail lol)

Ouch! That's painful to look at! I'd like to thank you for posting that though...you convinced me that it's worth it to buy the insurance.

dude if you are within the first thirty days you can add personal equipment protection, then wait a month or so and pay the 100 deductible and get it replaced.

Even with insurance they still wont help u.. its a hundrend dollars for deductible and its back ordered 2 weeks, she got the phone on friday when it came out, and broke it on monday

FLOL, seriously that one did make me laugh out loud, a little unexpected. But to the OP, that sucks man. I hate to see that. My wife went on a run a while back. She broke her phone, broke the replacement, then lost the 2nd replacement. So I found the crappiest/cheapest phone I could find and her use that for a couple of months. She hasn't lost another phone and treats electronics with care now.

@OP

Send those pics to Engadget and tell them how easily that screen broke. The Evo is so damn fragile it's not even funny.

Yes, it's a hundred dollar deductable, but without insurance, you either don't have a phone, or you buy another at full price, which is like 500 bucks. Your choice.

I felt the big sucker slipping out of my pocket when I crossed my legs today. I think the weight on the EVO they will slip out of a pocket.

I feel your pain, bro...

When the first iPhone 2G came out I bought one. I had it all of 2 weeks when I was mowing on my lawn tractor, jamin' on iTunes, and when I passed by a pine tree, a branch snagged the headphone cord and pulled the iPhone out of my jacket pocket. The phone dropped right in front of the mower deck... And you guessed it - the next thing I heard was a thump, and saw bits and pieces of plastic, glass, and aluminum ejecting out from underneath the tractor.

Apple took pity on me and sold me a refurb for $100. I was very thankful.

So there is no screen replacement option? You just have to buy a whole new phone if you don't have the insurance?

Just guessing, but I bet it costs more than $100 for a screen replacement. But, on the other hand, I read one of the Evo teardowns that said the glass looked relatively easy to replace.

So maybe there is hope for a repair. You should probably call HTC for that one, though.
