Accessories This Verizon Case is no good

Posting in the even this helps anyone:
I got the black and red plastic case from verizon. I liked how it faded from black to red and is very attractive actually. I think it wwas $12-14.

Problem is the black color starts to rub off. (Its just paint over the red case)
Worse, Ive dropped my phone twice, and both times the case popped off, leaving my phone damaged. Yep, I have 2 damaged marks on it already.

Nice job of "protecting" the phone.

Return time. Dont buy.

I have the black/red case and have dropped my phone from about chest height to a tile floor and the case did just fine. It DOES seem a tad cheaply made tho, being that the top cover is very thin. I can see how this could become a problem.

I have the black/red case and I love it as well...it does everything it's suppose to and my colors are still looking good.

I Have the black and red case too. I love the look of it but my paint is peeling already as well. I Am veryes careful and have not dropped it and only put it in a special pocket on the outside of my purse with nothing else in it. Maybe we got a bad batch.

I have the gradient case as well. Thankfully, there is no evidence of paint chipping. I'm moderately careful with it, but I put it in my pocket with other things. Darn, I hope it doesn't chip. Now, you have me already thinking about a replacement case.

I don't get the hard plastic cases. Some of them are kind of cool looking, but I don't see how they are going to absorb much impact energy if you drop your phone.

The gradient case does look cool but it makes sense that it would just be painted on like that. There's no way to (cheaply) do that kind of gradient with injection molds.

I really liked the look of the gradient case. Until I saw how the edges don't match up. On every single gradient case (I had them pull all of em out of the box to check) they edges don't match up. I also don't like having to snap the thing off an on - those little clips won't last forever. But the gradient colors look awesome. I like on the gradient how the volume buttons are set back into the case - I get tired of accidentally hitting those buttons especially when putting into my car dock. So what I did is get the black silicon case. It goes off an on easier. Is a bit slimmer and feels better in the hand. And doesn't have those stupid edges around the perimeter that stick out/don't fit together properly. I disliked how the volume buttons still get hit since the case has the built in buttons in the cover. So what I did was to cut out the part of the case that sits over the volume buttons - now I don't hit the volume buttons when putting into my car dock or accidentally just holding the phone.

Now Verizon just needs to make a gradient styled case in the silicone. I like the gradient look, just not it's faults.

I suggest the black crosshatch-style VZW case with the belt clip. The phone is NOT coming out of that thing.

i was torn between the red/black gradient case and the black cross-hatch slide-on with the belt clip holster mentioned above.

i then read somewhere on here that the Inc can actually slide out of the black cross hatched holster with its matching slide-on case but that the gradient case actually fits better/more snug in the black cross-hatched holster/belt clip.

so i bought them both and rock the gradient case in the black cross-hatched holster. seems like a perfect combination so far.

I have the red/black gradient and I have no chips or paint scuffs at all and I am a heavy user. I do not have any sign and the case is snug and shows zero sign of mis matching plate to plate... If I drop my phone without the case on the cement chances are it will not hit the phone since it is inside the case (common sense)... It is just slight protection and is not meant to be an ottorbox case - it is MAINLY used for looks.. if your prone to throwing your phone everywhere I suggest duct tape to your body or hand so it never gets ruined...

Pfff people complain - lol

i have the same case and have had similar results (without damage to this point). I am looking for something better, but waiting for more options to hit the market.
