Root Thoughts on SD Maid app?

Anyone here using SD Maid? Like or dislike? Why?

I'm looking for a way to easily and efficiently clean my system...top to bottom...regain internal memory, delete caches, histories, any and everything that might slow down the phone, LOL.

Would love one app rather than a few to do this.... Don't know if it's possible...

TIA!

<dumb> I'm a fan of ES Task Manager, as a plugin for ES File Explorer. With this combo, I can peruse my file system as well as LAN shares; kill hung apps, clear caches, uninstall apps, etc. Not an automatic solution but it fits my needs perfectly. </dumb>

Edit:: Just looked at what SD Maid really does, it's very much like CCleaner for Windows. I have the same functionality across a handful of apps, but this is convenient having all those tools in one place. Looks like a good tool for the job.

I actually ended up uninstalling sd maid b/c a few days after installing it and using it, my Link2sd partition became corrupted and failed...i couldn't pinpoint any other reason, so i axed the maid, LOL.

If it turns out that sd maid was for sure and for certain the cause of your corruption let us know.
It works great for me, but I don't have Link2SD.
If it is the problem we'll know not to recommend it to anyone with LINK2SD.

And contact the devs of both apps and hopefully they can make the two place nice.

I'm considering the full version of SD maid, and I don't consider many paid apps.

I haven't tried the app, but if it supports some kind of exclusion list, perhaps you could whitelist the link2sd scripts. Just a thought.

I have the paid version and could give you some insight as to what the paid version has to offer.
I can't remember the difference between the paid and free version so you'll have to ask questions that I can answer by looking at and using the app.

I wish I could be helpful and give a definitive answer...it was some time ago when I suffered the partition corruption; I remember posting here for help. I eventually got in touch with the links dev and asked him if sdmaid could be the cause and he said highly possible b/c of how it makes changes to the sd card. But he didn't know for sure, and I uninstalled sdmaid just to be safe, fixed my partition and was fine after that. Just my trial and error experience...

The duplicate tab and clean apps tab are the only thing I can think of off hand that are paid only. Duplicate would be nice, I know I have the same ring tones scatter across the for from mnt/sdcard/ to hell/highwater/

Clean apps allow you to clean all app caches.
The duplicate tab finds all files that are the same size. Then processes those that are duplicates. It allows you to choose which one of the duplicate files to delete.
