1) Im running shabbymod .9 and cant figure out how to change the animations when you navigate between home screens. I changed it yesterday and cant figure it out now.

2) I installed the handscent texting app. now when I get a text I get two notifications. One from handscent and the stock one. how do I turn the stock one off?

3) What is the best way to quit an application? pressing the back arrow or the home key? When I check the running applications I always see programs I thought I quit....

thanks.

Items 1 and 2 I dont have any answer for, though I though I read the new handcent doesnt require the stock one so you may be able to delete it.

However the best way to quit an application, check the app's menu see if it has a quit option, if no quit option use the back button.
As to checking running applications, are you checking by holding home key or by going into menu/settings/running applications?
by holdin the home key you see the last items you accessed, if you keep accessing more the last ones drop out that screen is your ram stuff for lack of a better word, the app may be closed but it is still shown in ram memory in case you want to go back to it. If you click on one it will reopen, from a closed state if you closed it. For example I play solitaire quite a bit and if I quit through the menu and then later look at it by holding the home key it reloads and a new game starts, but if I just hit the home key and then go back to it later it open quicker and its back to that same hand.

If your using GO Launcher go to preference/display settings, Its under home screen transition.

I think that Handcent has a setting to turn off notifications from the stock MMS.app. That keeps you from getting the duplicates. You can also delete MMS.apk to stop this since Handcent does not need it to handle MMS.

I have recently switched back to the stock MMS app. It is really all that I need. Handcent and GO SMS are both cool apps but I just don't do a lot of texting.

I figured it out. I had to unhide them in my menu, then go to settings and uncheck "show notification". then hide them in my menu.
