Thunderbolt gingerbread update

I e-mailed HTC this morning ,asked when this update is going to take place?
They told me they had no Idea,they will let me know...WTF?!!..
don't get me wrong,I like the Thunderbolt,it reboot like maybe
3 times a week,not too bad,but sill,...my son got the update on his
Facinate,and I like it,...I told HTC..I spent a lot of money on this phone
And want this rebooting to stop,I don't wanna root,and I don't wanna do a reset
What the hell they waiting for,....I want give the Thunderbolt up
Excellent phone,...would be more excellent with gingerbread,..get on the ball HTC!!

You can do the MR2 leaked update that will fix the reboot issue. might not be GB but it fixes the problem.
 
I'm glad you posted this. HTC will see this one post and give us the update we've all been asking for

In other news, I'm loving the hell out of my phone and gb will only serve as the cherry on top because if i had serious deal breaking problems, after the 30 day return window my dissatisfaction is my fault since i could've bought a perfect bug free phone. Btw...which one is that?
 
I spoke with a rep yesterday from HTC, and he confirmed that an update is coming in mid July, but it is NOT going to Gingerbread. It's going to be a simple software fix. Sorry folks.
 
They also confirmed the TB would launch February 14th. I wouldn't listen to them. And unless im mistaken. The fixes come from Verizon. And since HTC already released GB it's up to VZ to get it to our devices once they add bloat and etc.
 
I really like the phone but gb is last years news and Ice cream is now being talked about. I am getting annoyed with both HTC and Verizon. Why does Sprint have 2 gb phones out and Verizon has not upgraded it's flagship phone?

Don't have to beg - have 2 lines I can take today

This is going to be the update that turns off the Free Mobile Hotspot... GB OTA won't be here until September
 
Yeah I think the GB update won't come until HTC figures out what is causing the reboot issue exactly. They won't release another update before then because it could cause the problem to get worse. By then everyone will have rooted and we may have experimental ice cream sandwich roms out

Please. They know whats causing it and already have a fix. When they leaked the MR 2.5 radio I believe that was the fix because every since I rooted and changed the radio I havent had a reboot issue since.

Well I've been using the MR2.5 radio for a few weeks and still have 3-5 reboots a week so while it may have fixed it for you it hasn't completely fixed it for everyone. I may try downloading it again and re-flashing to see if that helps.

Really thats weird. Mine stopped. I haven't had a reboot since installing the new radio. Also a couple other people I know that upgraded their radio stopped with the reboots too. Anyway all Im saying is I went from 7 reboots a day to 0

I'll download and reflash the 2.5 radio again. Maybe that will resolve the issue for me. I've also been getting connection issues recently so maybe the one I got was named wrong or something. If that really does resolve the issue I can't imagine why VZW/HTC would not release an OTA, even if it wasn't GB, just to resolve reboot issues.

Do you know of a way to check MD5 hash sums on the phone itself?
 
I just want them to release a fix for the GPS. If I could get that, I'd be perfectly content with the phone as is. Google Navigation is one of the best features of the phone IMO and it's close to useless because of the GPS problem.
 
Im not too frustrated. My phone works fine. But i know one thing. Ice Cream Sandwhich better come to our TB and it better be amazing. Because If there is a good 4G Windows Phone on VZ by february, im jumping to them. Nothing against google. Im just a smart phone junky and like new platforms.
 
Getting pissed when im in the middle of playing baseball superstars, or navigation and BAM F#$KING REBOOT. At first it was manageable now it is just getting frustrating, and really making me regret this purchase.

I really hope that HTC dosent get scared to make a TB 2. I would really love to see that phone happen.

They won't be scared. They released the first LTE smartphone on the nation's fastest network. They must have known there'd be issues and they'd take somewhat of a PR hit. The only thing that worries me about a sequel is the TB isn't DROID branded. Then again they have 3 different EVO's on Sprint so anything is possible.
