Thunderbolt Launch Day Speculation/Rumor Thread

Moms are cool!

No disrespect to mom, but she is probably confusing the TB with with a new feature phone ;) Well, my mom would.

Still, in regards to the "article" yesterday that spawned thousands of posts in several forums:

1. No announcement today
2. No TBs sitting in stores
3. Based on BMX reports lately (good source) the TB has NOT been ready for weeks

Seems the article folks held hopes to was another concoction, which in a more binary, less touchy feely' world, equals "LYING".

The entire premise of another "report" is what it is. Perhaps the more touchy feely will spin it to "They might have misunderstood, or VZW changed their mind- "again"". Sorry, too much specificity in that article and others to treat any other way than what it is.
 
I like how people come on here and shoot down everything, like e info from bennnn guy, and the other guy with the convo with vz guy. Hownthe heck do u know it's not true, do you have proof or are you just going off what others are saying which what they might be saying isn't true either. Know one can say whether something is real or not unless you have proof yourself. Who know the phones could be shipping and could be there Monday, is just to hard to tell what's going on. I'm not going to say what's true and what isn't until we see what happens, that's all we can do.

The problem is the trend and consistency of failed results with the information. How can "Verizon is making an announcement today" and "TBs are in VZW stores NOW" not be complete opposite of the truth? Too specific not to be.

VZW corp stores have no info to support the reports, yet these folks that post this stuff and are wrong every time are considered bastions of authenticity? Wild.

BTW, I preferred that Big Daddy lived in Kicka55, so we could have a sequel with Hit Girl. To heck with the comic story line ;)

Sir , I have a nice bridge I would like to sell you. Just kidding.
The reality is that posters want people to think they are important enough to have vip contacts inside vzw and bb and result to bs to sell that point to the forums so they can feel important. Notice how quiet they were yesterday when nothing happened. Not one post from them.

Not that I necessarily care or believe any of the "insiders", but unless you're the head of the company your information is only as good as the last conversation you've had with someone. I've walked out of meetings with a complete understanding and agreement on what we're supposed to be doing and by the time I get back to my desk I've gotten three emails that changed the decision from the meeting.

It is quite possible that these "insiders" had completely accurate information at the time it was given (a data point) but something changed while they were off posting in the forums. It could be secondhand information and they aren't in the direct decision channels for what's happening with the phone so they don't get the newest decisions.

I've lived those things so I don't really pay much attention to insiders. I only subscribe to the "where there's smoke, there's fire" approach to these rumors. There's probably a lot of chatter, meetings, coordination, etc. going on at VZW right now to get this thing released and I'm sure the dates are pretty fluid.

I think some of the "insiders" are just trying to help the community out and some of them are just trolls who are full of it. Don't take either of them too seriously.

The only thing I will say, is that there is nothing reliable about someone that puts all their eggs in one baskets, saturates the web with their "sources" findings, then tries to back pedal out of it. No one has accurate information ALL the time, but to get upset that no one believes you after changing your story 80 times? I'm sorry, but my sympathy train left the station. You can only retract/change your story so many times, before I don't even care what you say even if your right. JMTC
 
Yeah , some of these folks that believe everything they hear really crack me up.
The other day when I questioned the post about the Thursday 11am release announcement all the fanboys were saying " jbh00jh you can't say that's not true because he is a super,super moderator with 2500 posts" etc, etc,etc.
Well what he said never happened and he was proved wrong.
I have been on the mobile forums since 2006 and have seen hundreds of dudes with DEEP inside sources proved wrong many times more than they were proved right. Having 2500 posts just means you live on a forum , nothing else. :)
