Thunderbolt Launch Day Speculation/Rumor Thread

long time lurker been watching threads since i pre ordered on the 6th. i picked up a droid x on the 15th of feb. my 30 days comes up the 17th it better be out! but i was told i might some extra days if the manager approves if theres no release the 17th

I wanted to make fun of you for being stupid enough to get excited about the smallest little thing...but then i got excited about the idea too...damn you and your dragging me into this again! :D

Plus it doesnt help to find these sort of "updates"

Is this best buy or Verizon? Because Verizon is only 14 days.
 
i know. it's bad. it's 2am here, and i'm still religiously checking their sites... and i'll do it again at 3am. i need a hobby, other than this.
 
Not happening this week and slim to none next week. Maybe the TB will get a Spring fever launch. Seems until VZW comes up with a tiered plan that adequately screws customers over enough, it is not releasing. ;)

Thing is, that may be what is going on now.....

You have 14 days to return to get out of the VZW contract, you have 30 days to return the phone and get a new one at contract price
 
If we don't hear anything this morning I wold guess this phone may be pushed until the 24th or 31st. If this is Verizon's next big thing I would think they would give at least a 10 day window for presales on the web site.
 
^^^ the iPhone was pretty big. How many days did prior to pre-orders did they announce the iPhone, I can't remember. I would expect the 17th at the absolute soonest.

You really can't compare how Apple does business with HTC, Motorola or VZW.

Two completely different animals. Apple it's light years ahead of everyone else when it comes to controlling what is said and done in the marketplace.

I don't think you can use the iPhone launch as a comparision. Two different things going on. The iPhone coming to a new carrier was a HUGE deal, like Wall Street Journal predicting that it would effect the markets huge.

The announcement was given a top priority and was made so that it would have the most impact. I'm not sure how long before the 3rd the acctual phone was announced, however the TB has been announced for months now.

You can't go by that. Verizon has never been consistent with releases. And as far as I can tell the iphone got special treatment. Look at the Xoom, the press release was like 3-4 days prior to the release date.

I figured they'd be somewhat similar with regards to 'new technology' coming to Vzw.
