Help Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 and NBA Jam?

Any way to get Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 or NBA Jam working on a G3?

I get an error when the app loads and tries to download the needed files. Looking around, I think the error is due to screen resolution.

No, I don't want to hack my screen resolution. Is that the only way I'd get this working?

Pretty annoying that neither one of those paid apps work.

I remember NBA Jam didn't work for a long time on my GS3, but it was eventually updated to support it.

Well, either way, it's coming, so developers will have to get their apps working with qHD displays.

Hopefully, these apps will be updated eventually.

I would say it's a resolution problem. I would expect to see an update soon as the G3 is the first mainstream device to have the 2K display.

And I agree...we should end all innovation at 1080P. Speaking of which, I miss dial up internet, resistive touch screens, VHS tapes haha! I'm not saying 2K is a huge jump and/or necessary...but big changes typically come one iteration at a time. 1080P wasn't deemed necessary on a phone just a couple of short years ago. I get it, 2k is really overkilling it...we all get it.

I resorted to playing madden on mine this weekend. I lost my jam season on my GS3 anyway, hopefully they will update.

My biggest loss was PAC-MAN, the playable screen was reduced and not scaled, so it was tiny.

Interesting, Madden does look like it works, even though the last update is Dec, 2013.

It keeps losing network connection though, not sure if just madden or the phone, sort of annoying that ea makes you stay connected with constant network connectivity checks while playing.

Qhd on small displays is eeeevviilllll! Not seeing the value add. Especially for games.

How is this helpful?

We all get that you don't like that the G3 has a QHD screen, and how it's a terrible phone for power users and gamers, but does that need to be reiterated in every thread?

Based on the non relative analogies, perhaps not for some ;)

Not really, but the same issues pop up to articulate as such. If you folks want a fanboy forum, that is cool. If this device had the same display design and resolution as the G2, I would be a member :) Wait, I did it again. Doh!

Whatever the case, LG made the right decision, based on sales :)

The LG G3 has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. That is a fact. Some may see this as a marketing stunt. Some may want this, some may not want this. Some will think it negatively affects performance, battery life, etc...some may not. It IS the reason some apps and games won't work.

I think HTC made a mistake with the camera in the M7 and then in the M8. They lost my business because of the camera. Low light performance didn't trump normal everyday pictures for me. I don't go into the M8 forums and tell everyone that HTC made a mistake. I just didn't buy that phone.

So anyway...sorry to all of you fanboys that bought this phone and are having problems with apps not running out of the gate. You made the wrong decision. You should have bought the G2, S5, M8, Z2, Note 3...or waited for the Note 4.

And all this time... I thought I knew a thing about a thing or two...boy was I wrong. I'm just an uneducated fanboy...

All current devices have pros and cons. Just depends on what your own weight of preference is to them.

The big win is if the user is happy.

I wasn't complaining and I like the phone. Like I said, NBA Jam didn't work for a while on my GS3 and then it was updated to be compatible.

Apps eventually will have to support qHD because it's coming.

Well it's an easy fix for app devs. They just have to make their game scale to that larger resolution (as far as I know that's all they need to do). It's not like this has a 4:3 aspect ratio or something LOL! Then we would never get support for it :)
