Root Time and Date Settings.

First off, I LOVE my triumph.

And appreciate you all for the work and generosity you do. We all know you don't have to help anyone here, so I appreciate it.

So here's my current issue.
I am running Starship Triumph (2.3 Gingerbread)
+ gapps

I need to change the time/date on my MT for testing purposes. Despite having Automatic uncecked and disabled, no matter what I do it will not stay to the time or date I set it to.

Sometimes it changes back instantly, other times it takes about 60 seconds. Never more than 60 seconds. (Estimating). I think this is based on the intervals it tries to sync the time, so I'm guessing 60 seconds is the sync time.

I've turned off sync, turned off radio, wifi, data, and it still syncs the time. It does not sync while in airplane mode.

I reverted to stock to test if it still did the same thing, and it did. Also did the same on Minimal Triumph 1.0.9.

When I installed Starship Triumph ROM, with a clean install I tested it again, and it still would sync on it's own. At this point I did not have gapps installed. Obviously something is turning on radio/data to sync, but I can't seem to pinpoint which app is doing it.

When I did a fresh install of starship ROM the only thing I saw as a possible issue, was bare bacis google sync apps.. I disabled the GET_TIME process, but it had no effect.

Any suggestions? I'm usually pretty good at looking up information, but aside from someone saying leave it in airplane mode, I need a solution. Any advice, tips, anything in general would be appreciated.

Thanks Again!

Trish

I'm not sure, but I think the time is set by the system time. And the code you are refering to may not be updating the system time, thus it resets when the system time changes to the next minute. I think you are changing the display time. I think the system time changes the display time as a goofy override.
Try to put it in airplane mode, shutdown, pull the battery, and wait a few minutes. I bet your time gets skewed.

the time got skewed this morning without pulling the battery after i changed it in the time and date settings. i noticed the status bar display stayed at 7:19am a long time. turned out to be 10 minutes slower than the time and date panel.

Ok, forgot to say. Thank you for responding :P

I discovered the widgets I was using to block radio/data/wifi/bt wasn't actually blocking the sync signal like it was claiming it was. I installed an airplane mode widget which did in fact block all signals but allowed me to turn on wifi which for the time being suits my needs, and allows me to be lazy about it.

So thank you for the response! Take Care <3
