Time to root my Hero

When I go to the downloads it come up with the folders that I put on but when i select them it takes me to a series of subfolders and keeps saying no files found. Were the files supposed to be zipped when they were put on the SD card? Im so confused lol

Did you download the files from your phone or did you download on your computer and move them over?

oh, i did it from my computer then transferred them over...is that bad? They show up on my sd card

Thats fine where did you put them on your sd card? If not in any folders then scroll all the way to the bottom once in "apply from sd card" menu. And see if they are there.

When I put them on the sd card I put them on the main screen where the music, DCIM, media, ect are. They show up in the list but when I click on them it just brings up the subfolders. When I downloaded them from the internet my mac automatically unzipped them though. Could that be the problem?

That is definitely the problem you have to flash the whole zip file. When you flash it unzips them and flashes accordingly. Just put the whole zip on and you should be fine. Keep me posted.

Ok can i hit the reboot now and do it that way, because i mounted the SD card while in whatever mode and it says the SD card is full. I took the two files off and it still says full. Sorry for being a pain in the a$$, but i really don't want to "brick" my phone... :/

You already wiped everything right ? If so did you make a nandroid? Fingers crossed you did. Then go to backup/restore and restore.

ok thank god!!! lol so after it restores put the zipped files back on and then flash the two and everything should work??

Yep just make sure not to unzip the files this time. You will have to re wipe everything once your back in recovery. And make sure you have a decent charge on your phone you don't want it dying while you flash.

Glad we got it figured out. Let me know when you get it up and running. I'll sleep better that way lol:p
And if nothing else you helped me get to my 100th post.

Actually one more quick question.. When i mounted my sd card it still wont let me put anything on there. It says that it has Zero KB available. I deleted all my music off and it still wont work. Is there a fix?

I would back up the whole sd card on your computer. Then reformat the card. And then transfer all the files back on. You might have corrupted something with whatever you did throughout all of this.

Well still didnt work. I recleared all the data ect. and the flashed. When I did that it took me back to the main screen of the recover mode after doing both the gapps & aosp. Then I clicked roboot and it froze on the HTC screen. AHH lol so im doing the recover again.

Make sure you flash the rom first then the gapps.
