Yes. Clicked on the DL html thingy and viewed the image. Didn't save.

I have my google email sync button clicked but it doesn't sync to the google contacts. Only one person syncs up.

Well there is another setting you can check as far as syncing gmail contacts. Open up people and select menu/view. Make sure Google is selected. Also the number next to Google will tell you how many contacts that should show up. If you have them in groups then you will need to make sure your groups are selected correctly too. It should automatically add the groups for you though. Another question: Do you use a task killer? If so get rid of it. That will mess with a lot of stuff on android including syncing. As far as the picture not saving, I am not sure what to tell you there. Seems like something is not set up right.

In people under menu/view it says Google (2) checked, Phone (29) checked.

How do I get all 31 to sync with google contacts?

Well I created a phone contact and see that after its created you can't change that. Kinda sucks. If I were you, just to make it easy (somewhat) I would just re-create them in google using your computer. I did not find any settings to change a contact from phone to google or google to phone. I will keep looking but it just doesn't look possible. Might be something we bring up with HTC. seems to me you should be able to change contact type.
 
I use one of my screens as a speed dial screen to an extent by adding shortcuts to a person that i contact frequently. The icon would be there assigned picture and when one is to touch it it brings up the text, call, map window etc.

After a factory reset this evening i was restoring my screens and when i add the contact there is a small icon in the bottom right corner of the persons picture. Their covering up a quarter of the picture and i dont like them there.

How do i get rid of that icon to only show the face again?

I take it back, there is a way. If you get an app called better cut you can create direct call icons that will have a much smaller icon. So small its hardly noticeable. Better Cut costs like 99 cents but its worth it because you can change all your icons.

I appreciate your help on it. Most of Froyo i like, but somethings weren't broke ya know?
 
I am using the phone-style keyboard and when I really get to typing it seems that the keyboard can't keep up. I notice that it seems to be because I am hitting the grey pop up as I'm typing.

So while using the phone-style keyboard is there a way to turn off the grey pop ups???

Wow, I tried to do what you are saying and I can't type fast enough to see that. You must light up that keyboard!!!!. I do not think there is a way to change that. I did look in the keyboard settings for touch input and nada. The pop up also allows you to select the other keys for that key. From experience though I have played around with other keyboards and they all contain the pop ups as well so I think its just a standard with these android keyboard. If anyone knows otherwise, feel free to chime in.

How do I add my name to the phone belongs to on the unlock screen.
I had did it on my launch day EVO but I don't remember how to do it now on my bricked replacement EVO

Was it an app you loaded? I have never seen an option to set this up. If you find it let me know. I am almost sure it was an app though.

The only way to change the color of the task bar is to root your phone and load up some custom task bars. Thanks for the tip on the apps I will check em out.
 
When I put my phone on vibrate only the phone calls vibrate. If I get a text or email or any other notification I don't get any kind of vibration...I checked the vibrate box in settings for both texts and emails but it only vibrate when the sound is on...I'm still on 2.1 if that matters

I just got off of the phone with Sprint tech support. The gentleman said this feature was removed by HTC, this was during the update that bricked a lot of the EVO about a month back. The tech guy said it was causing problems on the EVO. Hopefully HTC comes up with a fix for this.

unfortunately I am upgraded to 2.2 so I can't really help to much on this one. But I also can't stand vibrate mode... lol.

There is a program called audio manager. It allows you to control all your volumes and vibrates in one place. It was cool enough I got the paid version. but they have a free one that might help you out.

I just tested your scenario but I am also using Handcent SMS for my messaging. I have all my vibration alerts off for text. Turned my main volume down to vibrate. Received a text message and it vibrated. So looks like 2.2 will fix that. If not then try using Handcent SMS. Seems to work fine.
