1. Not with the stock app. You might try Handcent SMS or GoSms. They may give you those options. I do know you can set ring tones....using the contact card.

2. USB. when you connect put your SD card as Hard Drive...then you should be able to see the contents on your computer.

It's a pain because I would like to do the batch "update all" for the 2 or 3 or however many apps I DO want to update, however, the one app I don't want to update is in the "update all queue" so I can't just let the "update all" do its thing.

I didn't see a setting or option to ignore the app's update in the market. I would also like to ignore it only temporarily so I was hoping there was some sort of setting/option to do so. Thoughts??

This would be nice....but I do not believe we have that option right now. I also would love to see this as I custom themed apps that I don't want to update till they are themed. This makes it to were I have to update one at a time :-(

Not sure on this one. I don't use facebook. Sorry....does anyone else know how to get rid of the contacts?

Did you go into accounts and sync in the main settings of the phone and remove the account from there as well?
 
Gosh I was so mad about the fact that all photos I added to the phone show in one folder, with your FAQ I realised I have to make the Picture folder NOT in DCIM but separate.. Soo happy it works, thank you very much :-)

Text messages are sent over the same network you get calls on. So if you turn off Mobile network (3g) and Wifi, you will still get text messages. Does that help?

Ok your phone has 4 different ways to connect. First and most important is the cell network, second is 3G data, and third is 4G data, 4th is Wifi.

1. Cell Network = For Calls and SMS Text Messages.
2. 3G Mobile Network = Internet, data, mms, and all internet related info
3. 4G Mobile Network = Internet, data, mms, and all internet related content
4. Wifi = Internet, data, mms, and all internet related content just a lot faster then 3G and depending on connection faster then 4G

As you can see 2-4 are all the same....just at different speeds.

Hope that clears up confusion. ;-)

I must be a real dolt but this simple instruction is not working for me (or maybe it is but I don't know what favorite should look like when it is done). I don't know what the "People" app is so that may be part of the problem. Can someone take these instructions for a five year old and make them for a two year old so I can understand them? Thanks,

OK people ...........dont get mad just trying to to transition from BB to Droid.......have a couple of questions.......1 has been asked before need some clairification....

how do I make my sounds part of the alarm sounds ?

Does the thing get any LOUDER ????? I work in a high noise environment and even in my car I cant hear any of the alerts............ thanks in advance for your help and apologize for the duplicate questioning........
 
OK here Is the situation. My friend has an evo 4g with a bad esn number..now what he wants to do is flash the evo over to cricket. I read somewhere u can flash the evo over to cricket is that right? And what about the bad esn? Hopefully someone can give me some suggestions and point me in the right direction?
 
My last android phone would let me create a shortcut to "settings" and place it on the home screen. However the HTC only seems to let me make shortcuts to a specific settings sub-menu (display, sounds, wireless, etc.)

Does anyone know of a way to create a shortcut to the "all settings" main menu, so that I do not have to use 3 clicks to get there? or go to home -> menu -> settings, every time?

Hi...i've looked everywhere but i cannot find the Application tab under my Menu/Settings.
I want to give permission for unknown source (3rd party apps) to work. :(
 
Hello there!

First of all, is the phone rooted? If you are having trouble finding applications its quite possible that you are rooted and on a ROM that doesn't have that menu option there.

I am new to this site, just got my new samsung ace plus GTS7500 I have managed to set my mp3 music as a ring tone but cant seem to do the same thing for my texts, is there any way you can do this thanks
 
On my wifes nexus, she received a text with an audio recording attached to it. We want to save it as a file to use as a ring tone. I can NOT figure out how to download it to the phone. It's in the message, and we can listen to it. But it's not saved to the card.

Wow, no one ever answered you. Well, in case you need the answer still, yes, if you set your notifications to your preferred mp3 file, it will work for your text messages. I believe you have to put the mp3 file in the notifcations menu on your storage partition as well.
 
i have run a search all over and sorry to say i can't find my answer so will have to ask it here

i have the note 2 (uk) and im using aquamail as my email program as this suits my purpose better the problem i have is

when i click share and the email option it says no email configured as its trying to use the standard email program is it possible to set my email program as the default and if so how please

if there is a post then just a link to that would be really helpful thank you very much

Ps im new to android having just moved from blackberry after 12 years lol
