Root TIP: Use descriptive titles when starting threads!

Was just in a thread and Fadelight's response was dead on. There are too many "Help!" "Please help" "What do I do" titled threads that give no clue about the thread content. If you want people to take notice let them know what the thread is about. Yea, eventually I will check out a thread titled "Oh No!" (morbid curiosity) but my first pick is one with a title that catches my interest.

This has been a public service announcement. The thread titles have been changed to protect the innocent.... :cool::cool::cool:
 
Also if the title has anything to do with boobies you are guranteed a post by CRPercodani

The other reason is, your "help" post will only ever come up during a search for "help".

Hard enough to get people to search, let's at least give them some hope if they do!

Figured I'd bump this. The thread titles are getting stupid again ("Aw crap" "Help" NOOB wants to know"...)`. At least give a hint as to what the thread is about!!! More people might actually read your thread and respond...
 
Oh... you mean like the one below that's titled:

Never uninstall... ???

uninstall WHAT? dammit!!! I despise the titles that leave you hanging, like the OP thinks you're supposed to read his mind or that curiosity will better inspire people to click into it! grrrrrr.

Actually, that title peaked my interest (at least he baited it with a clue as to the content) :rolleyes:

^ lol.... it was more of a light hearted joke thread.... we all do stupid stuff to our rooted phones from time to time... more power = funnier mistakes.

I think the OP of this thread was talking just about the "Please help" threads that are made :P
 
At the time this was originally posted there was a slew of these threads going around. There's an awful lot of threads and pages to sort sift through. I can only speak for myself, and I don't check every thread and page. I skim to see what threads may be of my interest, what may be relevant, or what I know I may be able to help w/. I'm no where near the tech guru most of the guys here are, but I def want to lend a helping hand whenever I can, but I can't if I don't know what the issue is.

And if you don't have "boobs" in the title, then we may never know the problem.
