Root [Tip/Workaround] Working WIFI Hotspot with Root

Working WIFI Hotspot with Root:

1. Download a Rooted file explorer
(I used Root Browser free from the play store)

2. Download My HotsPot free from play store
(My HotsPot)

3. Open up Root Browser and navigate to /system/app
and delete HotspotProvision.apk and HotspotProvision.odex

4. Reboot your phone!

5. Open up My HotsPot app and you can config the name and password for the hotspot so no one else can connect or leave it open.

6. Click on open on the top right and it should open up the connection

Connect your laptop or whatever to your device and it will connect just fine!

Enjoy!

Issues:
If you are on a WIFI connection before you Open the connection will cause a FORCE CLOSE. Just hit OK and you will be fine.
It is best if you disconnect from any WIFI connection before you start the Hotspot.

I can't find either of those files in /system/app

There is no HostspotPovision.apk or .odex

same here. there are TetheringPovision.apk and TetheringPovision.odex.

is there a good reason to delete these and do this? the phone's native app works fine.

It worked! But I deleted TetheringPovision.apk and TetheringPovision.odex after making a backup just in case. The first try failed but tried again and voila perfect fast wireless tethering. Pdanet didnt work for me on Galaxy light metropcs but this did.

Update: No longer working. Now waiting/hoping for a solution/ROM to get this back up and running.

I guess it's now discontinued and no longer available. Perhaps someone else reading this, still has it and can hopefully upload it somewhere.
