Hello!

Just got the Xperia Z1 and still fiddling along.

Read all the threads in here but cannot find anything similar so I started this thread. If it dies, I will remove it.

Tip #001
Light Flow
It "wakes" up the screen for calendar reminders, some battery status, emails and SMS. Paid version allows notifications from apps like Viber, etc

Tip #002
Power+VolumeUp button to soft reset (restart/reboot) the phone.

Thanks in advance!

oh... though I was missing something!

Will try it now.

*post edit*
Light Flow controls the LED indicator only. Screen will still be black?

Tonight, I will try the water test that I put off since I got the phone last month!

Yep, give us a shout if you get stuck.

If you've not got it already, you don't need the paid version to do it, the free version lights up the screen fine.

Water test postponed till after New Year Eve - need a phone tonight!

Next question :

Android saves pictures all over the place! Using the default Photos app that comes with the phone.

a. How do I move the pictures around?
b. How to create folders?
c. Can I set the camera and screenshot to same folder?
d. Any apps to screenshot without pressing both buttons? I keep missing and volume goes up/down
e. Cropped a picture but it reports, "Unable to save photo edits."

Downloaded PhotoGrid from RoidApp as recommended by fellow Android user. Did my first template! Ok, I sound noobish but I seldom play with photos on a smartphone! :P

TIA

I'm quite literally a point and shoot kinda guy when it comes to photography so I've no idea about editing and saving etc, sorry.

I know folk have recommended Quickpic as being a better gallery app (it will display folders etc).

BTW, lightflow does switch the screen on, if you select the app you're configuring notifications for, head down to the bottom of the page, there's an option to switch screen on.

Help!

Z1 not charging... :(

tried usb connection to laptop and usb connection to power.

tried power+up button to soft reset phone too.

charged for 30mins and still 1%...

If the battery discharged as far as 1% then it may take an hour or more on charge to kick-start it back into charging mode.

I tried different cables and still nothing happened for 2 hours.

Decided to leave it charging while I slept.

This morning, I paused and slowly peeked at phone ... GREEN LED INDICATOR!!!

Literally jumped for joy and fist-pumping action...

Will monitor for a few days...

Noted. Will try out Quickpic too. :) I like to be able to move pictures around after I take them.

Yes, I am using LightFlow to wake up the screen for SMS.

One day, I will consider buying the full version so that I get a wake-up from Whatsapp, Viber, etc... :P

Hmm...

I reboot into SAFE mode and battery shows 35%.

No charging indicator but Diagnostics indicate it is connected to a charging socket. Turning off charger - indicates running on batteries.

Anyone has this experience before?

Hi all,

Been quiet because my phone back with Sony.

Got it back a few days ago - NEW replacement!

Haven't transferred from iphone 3GS yet. Should be doing it tonight.

Water test too! Thinking of under tap, shower head and ultimate PAIL dunking...

If all clear, will get the front and back screen protector. (Is the back screen protector necessary and anyone experience warping due to heat emitted?)

Already bought the flip cover AFTER I sent my phone in for repair. :)

Be right back with more tips and QUESTIONS! :P

BSOD !!!

Black Screen of Death!

Call came in and screen went black... Press power button but screen does not wake up!

Had to soft re-boot with power+up button...

Never thought that it will happen to me!
