Tired of waiting

I don't want the new dual core processors that are soon to be released.
I don't want the extra internal storage that is being released.
I don't want the larger screens that are being released.
I don't want the new operating system updates that are soon to be released.

I want a phone with a bloody high resolution display like that of the iPhone! Why are THESE not being released!!!! Argh it makes me mad.

The new larger screens being released are the same resolution as my current HTC desire.. And compared to the iphone they are beyond poor!!
Any particular reason android is so slow with releasing this feature? It's the only feature I want, as my desire is absolutely fine for everything else!

Probably in android 2.4

Honeycomb 3.0 is the first version to support a higher resolution.

It's believed that 2.4 will be a smartphone version of 3.0. If this is true, then we may get this

Technically, v2.3 supports high resolution displays (WXGA), and Atrix and Bionic are an example of this (960x540 qHD resolution). It is another matter if the manufacturers dare to bring such high resolution phones. Perhaps there is the price factor?

I have been wondering this for awhile, but at the end of the day it falls to hardware manufacturers to push this forward...this isn't really an 'android' thing as such...

I mean if no one will make the screens and phones to take it, google wont bother to add the extra coding to allow higher res...although I do see above that it is from 2.3/4 that allows now higher res..

now its just a matter of waiting to see if the manufacturers will bother biting and going for it...other than moto who only have 2 phones out with high res.

My high hopes were shattered when I learned that SGS2 had the same resolution as SGS...:(

Beyond poor? Thats over the top.

The galaxy s 2 actually has a much better display than the original due to the super amoled plus tech.

I agree: SGS2 is expected to have the best display in the market.
Already SGS had a great quality display.

But then again: we want higher resolution. ;)

Because most people want:

dual core processors
extra internal storage
larger screens
new operating systems

Yep. The desire screen size is perfect for me, and the resultion is optimum for that size screen.

Can't say I particularly need any more processing power really either.

Absolutely. And perhaps better battery life and less need for management of it.

Resolution on my Desire is fine for what i use it for and i can't help feeling that those complaining might just be techies obsessing just a little too much about specs that in the real world that really don't affect core functionality.

I just want a power button that needs a period longer than a nanosecond to switch the phone on.

Definitely stay away from blackberry then. My bold would turn on by blowing on it. Mind you, it was never really "off"
