Tmobile-MetroPCS Merger Updates & Questions

300 min is three times the amount being discussed.

Still, IMO, you're a rare 18 yr old if you don't burn thru 300 min given the chance...

I think most people in that age group text a lot more than actually talk on the phone. I'm in my late 20's and the only people I actually talk to on the phone is well basically my mom everyone else is texting.

Also there's ways to keep from using minutes and instead use voip. Like with groove ip you can txt and call with a Google voice number.

i use about 800 mins a month on my sprint account and have no issues with tmobiles 100 min a month plan. its actually the plan i intend to use with my g2 :)

I'm 25 and I only use 40 of my 450 min. And that's only because I've stopped using Google voice. If I didn't I wouldn't use none.

I was able to stay under the 100 minute limit but I was always watching it. To me it made more since to spend an extra $10, hop on Straight Talk and not worry about anything. So I did.

But that 100 minute plan is butter if you can make it work.

Cool, but that was the Easy part.

Now comes the fun.

With the Metro stock holders.

Does anyone know if you can get the stockholders meeting streamed?

[EDIT] I asked on Faceplant about the merger streaming.

I also told them they need a chimney at Corporate. White smoke for YES on the merger, Black smoke for NO. :D

@Gman9831 Do you have any idea of when we would be able to exchange our Metro phones for GSM phones? T-mobile's HSPA+ is much faster here than Sprint 3g, and I've been looking at the Optimus L9.

So will the gs3 work with tmo towers??i hears it would..but now im hearing ir wont?

Metropcs phones are CDMA so no it won't. Better sell it while you can and get back as much money as possible. Metro is going GSM starting in about six months I think...

what's metro is going to do with all their existing towers? whatever you are claiming is not going to happen.

Seriously? How long has their future roadpath been out and people still throw out complete nonsense?

Nothing is going to change immediately. It takes lots and lots of time to merge two cell carriers especially ones that operate on different technologies and frequencies.

I believe if I remember the roadmap correctly the new T-Mobile may in the last 6 months or so of 2014 offer to let you trade in your CDMA phones for GSM phones because they will be refarming the CDMA network in 2015.

But honestly this is going to be a slow integration so don't worry your CDMA phone is still good for another 2 years at least. And might still be good afterwards if they go VoLTE and you have a VoLTE capable phone.

I tried it and the 100 minutes a month worked but honestly it was always bugging me everytime I would make a call. The extra 10 bucks was worth it to not worry about the minutes. The 5 gigs was why I jumped on but last month I topped out right at 5 gigs which is the most Ive ever used. So I'd just rather pay the $40 for ST.
But that $30 plan is great and is very popular. i don't see them getting rid of it. I see them bringing in more like it. maybe. Who knows.
Yeah hopefully they keep that plan as they make good money of of it
i have some concerns over what this will do to their current plan lineup. i was hoping to hop on tmobiles 30 dollar a month plan with my very old g2, hopefully i can get over and grandfathered before they cut it off :O

Look @the last picture T-Mobile New Classic And Prepaid Plans, Classic Available At All National Resellers | TmoNewsTmoNews

"FOR customers who don't want $50 plan, $30 plan is still available but not promoted."

What's different? 100 minutes, unlimited texts and 5GBs of data.

Still not seeing what is different?

I see the 2 original $30 plans that have always been in place with the same details.

What am I missing? lol. I'm going crazy aint I?

Well before we were talking about the 5GB $30 plan then they announced the new plans so we assumed it was going away but yesterday they showed the new prepaid plans that said the $30 would be available but not promoted, but it's not the $30 5GB 100min unlimited txt that we liked, it's the $30 30mb 1500min & txt instead that they'll be keeping.

Long story short in the pic they're getting rid of the top plan & keeping the bottom one but not promoting it, you'll have to ask for it.
