How common is the pink hue? i'm gonna flip my lid if I waited a month for a pink hued phone and then have to wait another month and a half for a new one.

I'm willing to bet most of the pink hued complainers are just people looking for something to bitch about. This my opinion because I haven't seen any proof or comparisons.

There definitely is a difference between some Incredibles. My father and I both have one, and I was using his once and, while I didn't notice it until I used it next to mine, there was definitely a pink hue over everything. It's much more noticeable at lower brightnesses, but it definitely exists. That said, it wasn't bad or even noticeable until put next to mine, so it's not the worst thing. EVOs have it worse from the pics I've seen of them online.

just make sure you turn off "auto brightness." and set your brightness to about 40-50%, rarely will you see the pink hue. when the phone dims down is when you see it the most. its not as bad as it sounds. i thought i was gonna flip too, but after changing that setting, i hardly ever notice it. it'll be worth the wait!

Pink hue or not, take this advice. I always have my brightness set to 40-50% and never use auto-brightness. I find it really helps battery life (and my sanity -- I hate the fluctuating brightness).

i went from an iphone 3G to the Dinc. LOVED the Inc. switched to iphone 4 on launch...big mistake. 2 days later i was dying for my incredible back so i returned the iphone and got another Dinc.

this phone is amazing. i recommend it hands down.

I guess there's nothing you can do if you are holding out for the DX (which will be an awesome phone as well),

I'm undecided, at this point. With the OTA the Dinc may be back in the running. I want to get my hands on the DX and the Fascinate and make my decision. Back in February, when we were all lusting over the then unannounced Htc Incredible (with the red back), there weren't as many choices in smartphones as there are now (verizon). They only had the Droid and whatever else. Now, there will be four heavy hitters in their lineup, including the Droid.

I would agree with you. If someone wants the Inc, don't hold back, buy it. It's one of the finest phones in the world, right now and with the OTA, giving you all the new stuff? Unbeatable. ;)

BTW, my sister was going to return her Inc too, but the salesman talked her out of it and sold her two new batteries. :) I told my sister she shouldn't sell it, as well.

I had to quote this post directly above mine. Thats why I dont understand the animosity going on right now with some ppl. Whats happening right now with the X vs. everyone else.... was happening just a few months ago with the Droid vs. the Inc.

It almost divided one forum I visit alot. Ppl comparing a rooted phone to a stock one...it was crazy...lol To be honest....it is still kinda divided, just not as bad as a few months ago.

There will be a new kid on the block in a few months to make ppl forget about the X. For real, the Samsung Fascinate might dethrone the X as the new "it" phone. Might do it to the Inc too. Its perfect in size between the Inc and X. I'm still getting an X tho.

Like with the Droid vs. Inc, I didnt buy my Droid to compete in a popularity contest. I got it cuz it fitted my wants. If the Inc fits it, fine. If the X fits it, fine.

I actually read a post a few ago that said: " I really want the Droid 2. but the X is getting all the publicity, I might go with the X"

.......................................................................

I had to remind them, "No get what u wanna get, now whats getting all the publicity." I didnt say it then....but I feel thats what happens to ppl and the iPhone. Amazing.

I don't want to come across as 'bitchy' or anything, but that's a BIG assumption to make. I pre-ordered my DInc and I've had it since the day before launch. I read the posts about the pink hue and I'll admit I thought people were being a little loco about it, especially the ones that were saying that everyone had b/c I didn't.
I dropped my DInc & course it landed facedown and the screen cracked (yeah, I had a screen protector & a case) The brand new DInc that Asurian sent me had a PINK & GRAYISH HUE. It annoyed the crap out of me. I called Asurian and complained and they send me another new DInc (it was backordered for about a week) and there's no pink/hue tint. If I'm paying for a device and I know how it should perform I don't think I should accept less. I personally don't look for things to bitch about, but some people waited a long time for this device and some people paid retail for it. People just want the device to do what its supposed to do and this community is a great place to troubleshoot and find answers.

Edit- my 2nd DInc was pink/gray all the darn time, I set my brightness accordingly...

This is right to some degree, however this phone has proven to be faulty by a wider margin than is acceptable to both the manufacturer and the provider.

I 100 percent agree with you. For me, it's need. I don't need the absolute biggest and the best. I need to get email, be able to make business calls and browse the web. I do love the apps though. Unparalleled.

Alot of people are coming from either a dumb phone or a non-android phone like BB. So alot of these "Problems" are things that just need to be learned by the user. Most everything can be fixed.

damn figures of all the phones mine has a pink hue lololol. its not that bad when i hike the brightness all the way up, but at 0 to 50%, it is definitely noticeable.... havent decided whether to stick it out or get a new one.

they are still replacing pink hued ones right? do they make you send your old one in first?

This thread made me feel so much better about my purchase. Just ordered my DInc on 6/30 and the anticipation is already killing me, so I've been doing a lot of reading to prepare myself... A lot of these threads warn me about putting my phone in my pocket, or other crazy things that can go wrong. I'm a 20 year old woman who frequently carries her phone in her pocket when on campus or working. I've already purchased a hard case, a screen protector, and a sleeve to hold the phone when it's not in use. This phone is going to be my lifeline! Thank you for reassuring me about my choice. I'm glad my excitement is replacing my anxiety :)
