Root To root or not to root that is the question

Well guys thank you for all your help thats me finally rooted with stock rom with a2sd+ and 100mb free internal memory and 50 apps on my sd card. It was a bit of a nightmare but now i have done it im glad , its trial and error and a sense (pardon the pun) of accomplishment.

The thing that was a nightmare was that i failed to partition my sd card right (ext3 partition) and because i was using gparted mounted on a usb drive i had to keep booting and rebooting my pc and this took ages. But i finally got there :D

I have a couple of questions though I am looking at flashing the super circle battery mod. Can I just flash this on top of the Rom or do i need to wipe and then flash ?

And also how many nandroid back ups can you have ? If you take a nandroid and then take another do they copy on top of each other or can you have more than one ?

Muchos gracias for any replies

nandroids do not overwrite but they eat lots of room on sdcard

you should be able to flash the correct package without wiping, make sure you take a nandroid before you do it.

restore backup
you will need to either put it through a theme kitchen or look out on the thread for someone thats already done it for your rom

Hi rasta thanks for the reply,

Right I have been onto UOT kitchen for a look and im not a hundred percent sure what im supposed to be doing.

From your reply you said "you will need to put it through a theme kitchen"

Am I puting the circle battery mod file through the kitchen if so im stumped as I cant see anywhere that gives me the option to upload this file.

I take it im also supposed to upload my framework-res.apk I have managed to do this by extracting it from the RAR files of the ROM i downloaded.

What are my next steps please ?

In short, choose your rom in the menu, add the ingredients that you want, (battery circle) etc, then cook. you'll get a .zip file to flash via recovery.

Right I think I understand it now. Basically if the rom im using isnt listed then I upload my framework-res.apk and then i add a circle mod and cook it.

It then changes into a zip file in about half an hour and then i copy this to my SD and flash in recovery. This and this overwrites my current framework file and the batter should be changed.

Does this sound about right ?

Well I tried it and ............................success.

Thank goodness for that. Think that will do me for a while.

Many thanks for all your help guys.

Whats a root cache cleaner? cache is cache and it does not need root to clean. Accleaner is a good application cache cleaner.
