Too big, okay?

I never saw it before ordering the phone. When I first took it out of the box my initial was it's way too big, I'm sending it back. Within the first 10 minutes of use I was used to the size and loved it. Now I pick up my Droid Eris and can't believe I ever used it.

I don't find the X to be to big for me and I carry it on my hip.
Loving it so far and it seems I use it more that my IPhone 4.

It's a good deal bigger than the Incredible which I had before I got the X. I used to think that I liked a more compact phone. I do still think that the X feels a little funky in my pocket, but I don't care. The advantages of the larger screen outweigh anything else. It is so much easier to navigate on the screen compared to the Incredible. With its size though I will never put it in a case. Without one, it is just the right size for my hands (but still feels weird in pocket) but with a case it would be too bulky. I have fairly large hands.

Due to how thin it is, the X fits my hand quite well. However, my wife has to shop in the petites section and she found it just a bit too big for her, preferring the size of the original Droid or the Ally. So she's waiting for the Droid 2.

It does take a bit getting used, but the real estate is a blessing when reading emails and browsing the web. At first I though the large screen will feel cumbersome and be a battery hog, but I can easily last an entire day with phones calls, 3 IMAP and 1 exchange account, texts, some browsing, and bluetooth streaming of Pandora to my car. The large screen has been a blessing to my eyes, so you have no complaints from me.

Once you go X, you don't go back.

The screen is awesome! Especially in landscape mode. WAY less errors with the keyboard than my iPhone and it's great for the web browser too this way. It's thin enough to fit in a front pocket fine as well and is very lightweight. They nailed it with the X, IMO...and anyone I have let use it loves the feel of it. My father is very jealous lol

No the X isn't too big but in a perfect world they would have stuck with the 4.1 inch screen instead of matching the EVOs 4.3. But 4.3 i'll take 4.3 over anything sub 4 anyday.

I sent my Incredible back for this phone and its size. I LOVED the Incredible. The size isn't too big. In fact, the Incredible looks too small to me now.

If you want my opinion, the issue isn't the size, it's the user interface. What I found that I missed was Sense UI. I'm now used to not having it. They have clock and weather widgets that practically steal the sense look, so I'm fine. Just my .02.

The screen size is fine, but the phone itself could be a little less tall, IMO. Moto could have easily lopped off at least 3/8 of an inch from the height. It would have helped make it more pocketable for me.

When I got my first HDTV, a 50", it looked huge. I'm looking at a new 65" now. :)

The size is wonderful. I find web browsing to be better. Watching media is awesome. I just ripped the two star wars family guy dvds last night and they look great on there.

Granted, I do have big hands, but the keyboard spacing is awesome based on the larger screen real estate. I would recommend this phone. My wife, who could care less about cell phones, actually likes this one.

I am a girl with normal girl size hands and it's not to big for me

I also wear typical things like tight jeans and skirts and it slides into my pockets just fine but like someone says i often have it in a purse or since i am constantly texting, it's in my hand

I had the Evo and that phone to me is a lot bigger(Shorter & fatter/wider) than the X which is just taller than the evo

But trust once you go to the Droid X...everything else droid or iphone size looks and feels small in the hand when you hold it

Now the Dell Streak seems like it would be TOO BIG

I have smallish hands and I have no complaints. I wear cargo shorts with big pockets pretty much every day so there are no issues carrying it around.

I was so worried about the size and considered NOT getting the droid x because of it... I'm so glad I got it! I love this phone and the size! It is perfect. I'd much rather have a phone this size than a small one.

Yesterday I compared the X to my HTC Pro in its case. It turns out, it is about the same size. Given the snap on X cases, it means the X will work about the same with a belt clip as the HTC. So that is no big deal. I just wish the X screen had more pixels. While the screen is big, the print is not, a challenge for my aging eyes.

The big screen means big battery drain. I love the big phone but it's the boarder line of too big. If you question the size don't get it. I saw the evo and said now that's the phone for me.t hank god big red got a big phone too

For all it can do I think it needs the size. I have friends with smaller android phones and I hate using them after using the DX.

Ditto. Reminds of when we got our first large screen tv. I was like, OMG - that's huge! It looks funny in the room! Now, if someone tried to switch it out with a smaller tv, I'd have a fit.

I always thought smartphones had such small screens for what they were capable of doing. The size of the X seems perfect to me.
