Root Top 3 ROM's?

1. Miui
2. Miui
3. Miui

So since there seem to be some MIUI fans on this thread, I'll ask here (and sorry if this is a really dumb question): which version of MIUI is the latest/most stable one?

I've never tried MIUI, thought I'd give it a shot -- but the sticky here lists version 1.7.22, the thread on xda lists 1.7.29, and the miui.us link lists 1.8.5 -- so I'm a bit thrown. Am I right in assuming that last one is the one I want? And also, do I need to find gapps to flash with this, or are they included? TIA.

You know, I've flashed MIUI three times. Only one needed the gapps. Don't know why. I always wipe a few times between roms, and maybe it was just a fluke?

Not sure which is the latest, the last one I tried is whatever one was on the Roms And Kernels thread.

So I went ahead and flashed the 1.8.5 version of MIUI, and I have to say, I was much more impressed than I thought I was going to be! It's pretty slick. I may stick with this rom for a bit. (Well, at least until Mik3D comes out of alpha). I did flash a version of gapps I found here so I would have sprint vvm.

I'm running Mik3D a1, and I'm very impressed. It's not an alpha, , I think its a beta. Been running this horse for about a week, and its rock solid. Had some lag, but I got that fixed. This is just a great ROM!

^ Everything I hear about the 3D alpha is that it is insane for an alpha release... Good to know. Was going to download it the other day at Pizza Hut, but I needed to make an account... so I went with OMGB and OMFGB instead lol. I'll get it soon...lol

What did you think about OMFGB?

I agree that Mik3D A1 is beyond awesome for an alpha release. I ran it for a week or so, totally works as a daily - but there was just enough slight lag with the carousel and a few other bugs that made me move on (for now).

But getting back to the original question of "top three," I am usually not one to collect nandroids, but there are three that I keep actively using lately:

(1) MikG 2.45
For great speed + rock-solid performance. So close to flawless/bugless, this is probably the rom to put on your tech-scared friends' phones.

(2) MIUI 1.8.5
This is my first time trying MIUI, but I am really amazed at how quick, smooth, and super-customizable this thing is! Between the theme manager that lets you pull individual aspects from tons of downloadable themes, all the little shortcuts and tools included, and the crazy ten-point lockscreen I'm using (see "10-Way lockscreen by SiLeNcE28" on this thread), I haven't been able to put my phone down!

(3) Mik3D A1

*Man I love talking about this stuff, so glad this forum is here. :)

I deleted the large calendar widget and all the other widgets and only kept the Weather, the small calendar and the clock/weather widget. The reast are app shortcuts. This thing flys now!

O, and my 3 favorites are:

Mik3D
MikG
Kings ROMS....All of em! :D

aamikam and King are the top devs right now. aamikam will probably begin to phase the evo4G out because he has a 3D now, and it has root. :(

Until then, go forth and flash away my brethern! :D

1.8.5 is the latest and slickest... Im glad it is an iPhone for the Android phones..Go for it!

You can have an Android iphone look, but not the actual iOS. To get an android look on iOS you need to load android on an iPhone.

Do you see the crucial point there?

Android can be made to look like anything you want, iOS is only iOS, nothing else. Job's narcissism is truly EPIC!

MIUI is unique, its completely reengineered. Not only does it go beyond Android it isn't iOS either. It's in a completely different category. AOSP (Vanilla), Sense, MIUI. Just my personal observation. Carry on civilians...carry on. :D

I agree with that. It isn't stock, far from it. But I'm not sure it could really be called AOSP either. There must be some type of mutant category or something for MIUI to fall into.

Thanks but whats your point? If I could afford the ATT plan I would own an iPhone....The Miui knock off is my next BEST choice.

My point is iOS cannot look like android. Mr jobs won't allow it. You physically have to load android onto an apple device to get the android "look" which is possible.
Android on the other hand can be modded to look just like iOS. You don't need to load iOS on an android device to look like iOS. This isn't possible by the way as far as I know. I've heard of android on apple devices, but not iOS on android devices.
I'm not bashing anyone who likes apple products or iOS, by any means. I own ipod touches, and they rock! Just throwing my observation out there. :)
Also if you like the apple lockscreen slider, buy widget locker. It has it in there, and you can set it up just like iOS. ;)
There also is a complete set of iOS icons available is you want em. Pm me if you want em, and I'll se if I still have em, or I'll help you find em. :D

OMFGB was fine with me but Decks seemed faster and more stable. I went back to Decks.

I actually flashed OMFGB right after that post. I liked it, but I am already using CM7, and have that all set up. So I just end up downloading / restoring the apps and settings that I am currently using. But it seemed fine. Maybe after my CM7 is not up to date I'll try OMFGB (or OMGB) and/or Decks. So many choices... :)

In my opinion, the best Sense rom is Synergy RLS1 with Sense 3.0, and the best ASOP rom is CM7.

I primarily use CM7, but I also like Synergy RLS1.

The main reason why I use CM7 instead is because of the web browser, as I hate the Sense web browser and I don't really like the alternative web browsers in the Android Market.

Ill Keep Miui or bust,, All other roms (all of them) look the same and are ugly, dis-organized,, Thank goodness for Miui!

Honestly, everything other than MIUI is basic Android with maybe a different launcher and theme. There's not much difference other than using the aosp vs Sense dialer/contacts/settings screens. They all look the same.

Well said, I would trash my Android if it were not for Miui,,,, Thanks

Like I said if you want the actual iPhone icons, you can replace the icons you have in miui with those. I was playing with my friends iPhone4 last night, and I completely forgot how smooth those things are. No lag, everything just works.
I have adhd so variety is a must for me. I get bored too easy. :D I like to change and tinker too much, gets me in trouble some times.
