Ok, so I'm having a tad bit of a hiccup. I'm in live with my new Motion. But there is one thing thts buggin me. With my admire, i was able to use atorrent or others, but for some reason with this new phone whenever I'd go to download a torrent it just sits there for our saying that is trying to download even with the wifi only off. but it never actually downloads so please if somebody could just help me out with this problem in trying to figure out what's making it do this. It would he greatly appreciated.

No. It wasn't the seeds. I checked all of the files thoroughly. Thanx fur the tip tho. Ima keep looking into this as it would make this phone that much better.

I have never been able to get any torrent app to work. I always figured it was just impossible because metro was somehow blocking it. Which one are you using?

Can somebody upload utorrent beta somewhere. I keep getting an error purchasing message in the market even though the app is free.

Ok. So i downloaded utorrent beta. If this one didn't work that means i have tried every reliable torrent host i know. trying it now

Wtf! Its just not working. Not a single one. I can't say bad things about this incredible Android... But I'm very disappointed. I'm not an idiot, but my admire worked with torrents actually very well. I guess ill just on trying. Thanx everybody fir the advice. Any new advice let me know.

Wow, i never thought of that. You must be a genius dude. obviously high have looked at the post above. there's no clear or definitive answer. and that's why I was asking. you know for website full of people supposed to be helping each other there's a lot of assholes on here

well you're not giving any error reports, you're not giving anyone anything to work with about what problems other than a simple "it's not working!?!?!" and you're also asking how to use Torrents on a Metro phone...which is against their user policy and hogs bandwidth for other users on the network....

so there is that...

also...well...c'mon, does this look like a site that promotes piracy?...and do not tell me you use Torrents only for legit purposes...i do not know a single person, including myself, that uses Torrents for legal reasons only

Lol I don't use torrents at all. Direct downloads for me.

Ok. Good point guys. I'm sorry fir saying that it just seemed Like you we re one of those people who just wanna be negative. So i do apologize. I don't really know how to take error reports. Andi didn't know that it did that to other metro users. I usually don't use torrents. I'm learning this stuff so i appreciate the help

I haven't really used torrents on the phone, but I'm kinda familiar with it on the comp. Though, I doubt I'd even suggest it on 4G. Speeds on this network are kind of sketchy already. Also, I know Metro has speed throttles after a certain amount of data usage... and even if you're on the "Unlimited" plan, Metro could still notice usage. It's even in their terms of service, it's how they notice tethering in many cases. And they say, if a user is using their network in a way that is harmful to the network or that can cause a lot of bandwidth, they can turn off your data without notice. (I found all this information while I was reading on how to tether.)

I know torrents usually use certain ports, those may be closed, used by other services, or not being used. To be honest, there are quite a few settings that could prevent you from being able to download. Troubleshoot, try whatever. Don't blow up your phone though, and don't rely so heavily on the network, like if you have WiFi, use that.. if you go to a public location with WiFi, use that instead. Again, Metro has a pretty close watch on its costumers. ;)

Also, don't be so quick to judge people on the forum, you really gave them little wot work with... and there are like 100's of other pages on here, search through them and maybe you could find your answer. e.g. someone on the esteem may have had the same issue as you and found a fix for it.. Come on.

Yes and we all use newsgroups to read some news. :-D

idk i guess i'm the only one who uses torrents to legally download gigantic linux distro ISO's.

piracy isn't the only reason for torrent files.

alot of companies are switching to them simply because of certain(but not all web browsers) web browser malfunctions that'll end up making all that time downloading half of a file worthless.

torrents are a way better option if you find your self having to keep your browser open for x amount of hours just to keep your downloads up. (if your not wget'ng everything you download)

especially if the browser get's closed accidentily and your stuck having to re-download the whole thing again.

p.s op the only torrent program i'd ever use these days is transmission /qt-transmission. they have a windows port. but none for android yet, although you can control your transmission on your p.c with an android transmission "remote control", there is no stand alone version for android yet.

**** utorrent.

idk i was thinking about it, unless your just using your phone to dl a torrent of something legal, only to transfer it to your pc later.. what would you really need to dl torrent files for on a phone.. unless you happen to make a torrent your self made up of family videos....movies you own..etc.

otherwise what could it be used for....hrmmm
