Root [Touch CWM] LG Connect (touch screen recovery)

Hey guys this is my first post :) I have been messing around with this for a little while now and I found out how to flash CWM touch to the Connect without fastboot and all that crap.

Step 1. download the all in one CWM and Root tool here http://androidforums.com/connect-4g-all-things-root/522110-root-cwm-lg-connect-4g-all-one-root-clockworkmod.html

Step 2. go into the folder you downloaded and go to files and delete the "cwmrecovery" file.

Step 3. download the CWM touch image from here http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-ms840.img

Step 4. place that file in the "files" folder in the folder from step 1 and rename it "cwmrecovery"

Step 5. go back to the main folder from step 1 and run the batch file. Then press "2" and press enter.

It will install CWM but install the Touch one instead of the normal
 
ya i was trying forever to figure out how to do it because i couldn't get it booted into fastboot and then I had this idea and it worked :) touch CWM is waaaay better
 
Well the reason the CWM Touch wasnt posted here was out of respect for koush since he charges $1 for the CWM Touch. ;)
 
I already posted an updated aio script with cwm touch a long time ago.

As for respect for koush, shabbypenguin is the one who ported cwm touch for the connect, so koush should get paid for it? Not to mention he offers it free if u install it yourself. Now people can without fastboot.

True Shabby ported CWM itself, koush built the Touch version tyvm. And I've not used fastboot on the connect yet lol

I'm not debating the issue, just stating why Shabby nor me had posted it. I dont know koush's official stance on the subject.


Oh and did you send that battery yet??? lol

koush makes cwm, i just made sure it worked great on teh connect :) i didnt post the touch version in an installer due to me not knowing for how koush would like that (this is my first device that is official cwm) so out of respect i left it alone, plenty of smart people will figure out you can get it for free, the ones who cant be bothered will buy it from rom manager...

overall not my ideal situation, but its his business model and so far im sure its working

We just write/edit 2 or 3 config files (varies per device) to his 100+ files of code for CWM. lol:rolleyes:

But like Shabby & I said we didnt post it out of respect to koush. You all didnt get it from us so no big issues. ;)

I know why you guys didn't lol, I don't hold the same reservations as you. I did talk to shabby about me putting it up (its on his server space afterall) and while he didn't necessarily agree with my reasoning, he chose not to force his will on me and bar me from uploading it. And you are welcome very much ;)

No, I haven't mailed it yet.
